Roseanne Barr is hosting an Oscar debate between Ed Rampell, author of DisInfo’s Progressive Hollywood, A People’s Film History of the United States and Jim Hirsen, author of Hollywood Nation.
The left versus right post-Oscar discussion is being broadcast live on Air America radio as Roseanne and Johnny Argent guest host for Richard Green’s Clout! program.
When: Between 8:00 – 10:00 p.m., Monday, February 25, EST.

In addition to Progressive Hollywood, Rampell co-authored Pearl Harbor in the Movies and Made In Paradise, Hollywood’s Films of Hawaii and the South Seas. L.A.-based Rampell is currently a film critic for the Los Angeles Journal and has written on film/TV for: Variety, L.A. Times, L.A. Daily News, San Francisco Chronicle, TruthDig, Chicago Sun-Times, AlterNet, The Nation, TV Quarterly, Cineaste, etc. Rampell, who majored in cinema at Manhattan’s Hunter College, appears as a film historian in the Australian documentary Hula Girls, Imagining Paradise. In December 2007, The Progressive Magazine published Rampell’s alternative Oscars for Best Progressive Pictures, called “The Progies.”
Hirsen is a rightwing tool noted for bashing Hollywood’s progressives.
