Chaoism: An Infantile Disorder

From Black Sun Gazette

“When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things” – 1 Corinthians 13:11

Chaoists are a lot easier to manipulate than they think. The use of a Bible verse will likely reduce their illogical legions to simpering children. The verse also eloquently summarizes everything that is wrong with chaoism and its related tangents. Put in the brilliant carny simplicity of The Church of Satan: questions all things … but it helps to be able to think first. The paradigms of chaos magick, earnest Discordianism (it’s called a “joke religion” for a reason, people), and radical skepticism (all of which will be referred to in this article under the rubric of “chaoism”) concentrate on the former without any regard for the latter, and in doing so reduce themselves to a group of ineffectual clowns, asking “why?” with all the impact of a toddler rebelling against bed time.

    Brilliant!

One of the best refutations of the Religion of Materialist Reductionism I’ve ever read. With poker-faced satire, this article demonstrates just how myopic, hypocritical, and unintentionally self-mocking the Fundamentalist Atheist crowd is.

The author contradicts him(her?)self too many times to easily count (some of my favorites are, paraphrased: “Magic ain’t real … but it works!” and “Human perception is fundamentally flawed … except for mine and the people who agree with me!”), trots out some of the most laughable dogmas of materialist reductionism (”Science isn’t a belief system, it’s the Truth!!”), and then wraps the whole thing up with some transparently ludicrous “If You’re Not With Us, You’re Against Us” rhetoric. Comedy gold!

I’m sorry. I missed the part where someone discovered the ultimate answer to everything and thereby (somehow) gained the right to treat others as ignorant children. Stop getting angry about it and let’s have ourselves some discussions, instead of the heated arguments religion usually evokes.

The author sounds to me like someone who tried magick, failed miserably, and now hates real magicians for it. typical…..

I wish I could read the rest of this article! It 404’d after the link.
I liked the opener, although it seems to imply that Bible verses aren’t good for turning anyone BUT Chaoists into simpering children. Also, are we not evolved enough as creatures to be allowed to set our own bedtimes, or does the author’s Daddy God, whatever his for may be, deny me my right to question it?
