UN to Produce Bullion Coins as World Currency

Via Current:

The announcement by the United Nations this week that it will license the minting of silver and gold bullion coins bearing the UN logo may be the button that launches metal prices into orbit.

In its wide-ranging report this fall, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) stated that the system of currencies and international banking practices within today’s economies were inadequate, and responsible for the present economic crisis. The report advocates that the present monetary system, wherein the dollar acts as the global reserve currency be re-examined “with urgency”.

The UNCTAD Report was the first time a major multinational institution had forwarded such a suggestion or measure, although a number of countries, including Russia and Brazil have supported replacing the dollar as the world’s reserve currency. China’s central bank chief Zhou Xiaochuan has mentioned that the dollar could become a basket of currencies instead.

Come on disinfo agents, what are you waiting for? I can't wait to hear you prattle on about how “'conspiracy theorists' are going to have a field day with this one…” I can't wait to see you reject the testimony of your own eyes as 'conspiracy theory.'

You had better take your fingers out of your ears and start listening because it's coming and it's coming down hard.

So go ahead, call me a kook and a fruit loop, when people like me have been telling everybody about this for years. Go ahead liberals … savage me.

    • hey glenn welcome to the site

    • This is going to be a “world currency” just like the UN Corps are the “world police” they supposedly are. No one cares what the UN says, it's just a big joke anyhow.

buddy, the global economy is so complex that a single currency will never be the “only” currency. Back in Detroit I could pay for everything except utilities in dope (actually, I probably could've paid my electric guy in pot if I wanted, I just never tried…). Just because a few countries are afraid that the dollar won't be the safest currency after a decade or so doesn't justify a belief in the impending Illuminati One World Government. Many, many countries are still investing in the dollar. That isn't likely to change very soon, and even if it did what exactly did you expect to happen?

Okay, I see the level of discourse here.

Go home and smoke your pot junior, grown ups are talking.

Crabmonster Tactic #1: Ignore the point and go right for the implied personal attack.

Seriously, though, you know who was a big supporter of a world government?

and food replicators, transporters, warp drive and a world without poverty.. – but i agree that Crabmonster is being a dickhead.

Nice. But c'mon guy, answer the question. Insult me all you want, but if you refuse to engage a valid question you're tacitly admitting to not having any answers (or cojones).

What is it that you don't understand? Did you not read the above article?

You want more, here you go:

Here's one from the CFR website, 'Does public opinion matter? World Attitudes about global Governance:

How can you tell me I'm imagining things?

Right off the bat I was called Glenn Beck, and everybody who disagrees with me here is comparing me to Glenn Beck. Then it's a problem when I ignore the insult. So who's really being the dickhead here?

          • Tuna Ghost | Dec 28, 2009 at 10:46 pm |

easy buddy, relax. I asked you, even if the dollar ceases to be a the currency practically everyone still invests in, AND the UN somehow manages to make this currency valid worldwide, what is it that you think is going to happen? No other currency will rise? Every country will turn and say “oh, why don't we just go back to using gold coins and have one currency, that's so much easier”? Is that what you see happening? Help me understand. What are your main economic theories that support this? Do they somehow involve sneaky jewish bankers? Think carefully.

          • crabmonster | Dec 28, 2009 at 10:51 pm |

            Now you all saw that.

First I'm Glenn Beck, then I believe in the illuminati, now I'm an anti-semite.

thank you very much for this well thought out discussion.

Go drink your fluoride and smoke your pot, it's all very funny. Hey, stay stupid everybody!

          • Tuna Ghost | Dec 29, 2009 at 1:11 am |

I've noticed you avoided the question and refrained from actually elaborating on anything. Help me understand where you are coming from.

          • Nice articles on how the UN is proposing a new standard reserve currency. Here's why you are totally retarded:

            1) The UN is but one relatively minor player on the world stage when contrasted with the U.S., Russia, China, the E.U., Germany, Japan, India, Brazil…. do I need to keep going? Yes, yes, Alex Jones, I am aware that you think every major world leader is working in concert to erode “MMMMMURRRRIICAAAA” I am attempting talk about the real world in which people who get their analysis from sources other than Aaron Russo live.

            2) A “reserve currency” is currency used to CONVERT ONE CURRENCY TO ANOTHER. It is not used by people walking around buying newspapers and hairdryers and what have you. For the last period of world history it has been the American dollar. Why do you think that currency is any more or less oppressive to the world than a UN dollar?

          • Tuna, buddy, didn't you know that the only reason for the decline of the U.S. dollar is a concerted 100 year plot by “certain European bankers” (which is TOTALLY NOT a codeword for “Jews”)? It has nothing to do with the overall decline of the manufacturing center, the crisis of overproduction, the tendency of the rate of profit to fall, or anything else that can be shown using charts, graphs, and numbers. No, a much more reasonable explanation is that a bunch of reptilian eugenicists are collaborating to form a one world government which will take your guns away and then use them to force your children to learn Spanish and get gay married.

Occam's Razor! Of course, it was there all the time…

Let me tell you, it's more likely than you think:

The rats are jumping off the sinking ship.

BTW, I didn't say anything about 'the illuminati'.

And what did I expect to happen? Watch the EU, trampling on human rights (sigh, here's another example because I know you don't believe me):

I'm not talking about a shadowy conspiracy. What worries me are unelected bureaucracies running our lives with a napoleonic code of law.

The EU should be closely watched because they are setting the precedent.

          • constitutionalist101 | Dec 29, 2009 at 12:05 pm |

All I do know, is all you people talk in are euphemisms , seems all you people who don't believe one thing or another in the sake of being “un-biased” in “conspiracy world”, just makes it ….well pointless

Alright who's next, what else you got?

  3. tonyviner | Dec 28, 2009 at 12:33 pm |

I don't understand how making coins out of chicken flavoring is going to be beneficial to the world economy. There are a lot of things that I don't understand, I guess.

The exchange rate for one UN Coin is six three dollar bills.

  5. santosfabian | Dec 28, 2009 at 7:00 pm |

    new world order?

  6. if things really do go down the way the alex jones , glen beck people think…..well the whole world will be going down, might as well enjoy the ride

    • Tuna Ghost | Dec 28, 2009 at 9:51 pm |

If Glen Beck is ever right I will want to die anyway, so it's win-win really

  7. Man, can't wait to see Alex Jones fanboys the world over have a field day with this one coupled with their woefully pathetic knowledge of how the international economy works and recent socio-economic history.

  8. emperorreagan | Dec 29, 2009 at 11:53 am |

I have a contract to manufacture 666 guillotines for the UN to be taken to the DC mall in 2012. Look for your guns to be taken away in early 2011 and all patriots to be rounded up and taken to internment camps for execution by the end of January 2012.

  9. You might call me a conspiracy theorist or a freak, or whatever you want.
But for the last year and a half or so I have been wondering about the “endgame” of all the gold buyouts that have been going on lately.
    cash4gold, the gold guys, etc.
I guess now we know why someone tried to get their hands on as much gold as possible for as little money as possible on such a large scale.
And once again a lot of gold has been taken from the unknown public and will somehow find its way into the satchel of the big shots.

History repeats itself every so often. I just wish that people would pay more attention to the past.

  10. May God have mercy on the ignorant souls who commented against this. May God open up your eyes and remove the scales. May God pull the plugs out of your deaf ears. May God remove the fear from your hearts. For it is the fear that is preventing you from understanding the truth. There is no need to fear the coming events if you are secure in where you will go after you die. Accept Jesus Christ as your personal savior. He loves you more than your mother or father. You cannot be ignorant any longer, the beast system is here and moving quickly. The currency system is doomed to fail. It is a man-made system made out of unjust weights and measures. There is nothing backing up any of the currency out there except a paper trail. A one world currency is set to take center stage soon. God speed to all the lost souls- in Christ's love.

HE gave Ten Commandments and everybody broke it. IN HIS mercy HE gave HIS only Son to pay for the punishment everyone deserves, and most reject such expression of love. Repent, and ask Jesus Christ to forgive you for breaking HIS commands and ask HIM to lead you into the everlasting life.
When you leave your physical body (you are 3 things physical, soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit however your spirit is dead till you receive HIM as your Lord. Escape my friend for HE is the only way out.

  12. Excellent! Great article, I already saved it to my favourite,
