You Voted for it, Sucker

Forgive me. I’m on the warpath today. Barack “Hope and Change” Obama, the blue butcher with the silver tongue has just announced- to a military, not a civilian audience- that he intends to deploy an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan. We are told there will be a troop draw down in three years, but Mr. Obama says a lot of things. Comparatively few of them are true. Even his surface rhetoric belies Obama’s plan to add another colonial territory to the American Empire. He will leave troops in Afghanistan in much the same manner as Bosnia, Germany, and Japan. The military will begin training American troops “better” while also bribing less-committed Taliban members away. Karzai and other American “allies” will be strong-armed to step up.

But you know all I need to know about it? Ol’ Turd Blossom likes it. All those who won’t be fooled by the Democrats in four years raised your hand…

Not so fast, suckers.

How is who voted for this considered a Sucker though?.. since day one Obama said the focus should have been in Afghanistan.. and not Iraq. He said that if he was elected …he would shift that focus. He's doing exactly what he said he would do….

He also said a troop draw down will begin in 18 months… that's a year and a half right, not 3 years.

Finally, someone that listened to the man.

It's funny how many people think that Obama promised an immediate withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan, when he has consistently said that we will be there for awhile, with the given reason of “making sure the countries are stable.” I'm torn about this, as I think we have already dumped years of money and training into both countries, but if we did leave them in states of disrepair, that could lead to even further animosity between America and the Middle East.

Yep, the man has done what he said he'd to…to the extent possible for any President. I wouldn't want him to maintain a foolish consistency, but by the same token I want to see progress on drawing down our forces in Iraq (check) and on capturing Bin Laden (or verifying he died in a cave of diabetes or whatever).

Plus I'd be super happy if Pakistani nukes didn't blow up in my town. That'd be swell. Pakistan is basically everything Bush told us Iraq was. They have nukes. They had a military dictator. They have Al Quaida (Bin Laden himself!!). They were probably involved in 9/11. Keeping a lid on that can of worms is worthwhile, IMO.
