Danny Glover On Haiti: Dumb As Pat Robertson?

What is it with the disaster in Haiti? First outspoken conservative wingnut Pat Robertson states on air that Haiti is ‘Cursed by a Pact With The Devil’ and now leftie B-Movie star Danny Glover says “When we see what we did at the climate summit in Copenhagen, this is the response, this is what happens, you know what I’m sayin’?”

Who’s dumber, Robertson or Glover?

  1. No one is as dumb as Pat Robertson, well maybe just as dumb but 4 sure not as EVIL ! Pat Robertson is a living sack of shit

    both are equally dumb!

  3. so is he saying, if you don't join in the man-made global warming camp, your country will get leveled?

I don't think his comment was the same as Pat Robertson…at all. He was stating that America isn't really interested in “acting now”, much like in Copenhagen. He's saying the US has to put it's money where it's mouth is, and help out a nation that has suffered through enough.

  5. Yeah, not cool to compare this to Pat Robertson! He is saying clearly that because of the global warming and other environmental issues, the first places to feel it the worse will be small island nations…and that the larger nations have a responsibility in that. So if larger nations ignore the warning simply due to their size and resources, they are effectively making things worse for the smaller countries.

Also realize that Danny was in the middle of shooting a film about Haiti too, so he is very connected to the country and its history. Disinfo FAIL.

Call me ignorant, but what does an earthquake have to do with global warming/man made climate change?

      • nick__nick | Jan 15, 2010 at 3:35 pm |

He's drawing a comparison between people NOT doing anything about global warming and NOT doing anything about Haiti.

I thought that what Glover was saying, but not too sure that's what bzzt! was saying.

  6. I think WE are dumber for breathing the same air as either of them.

And Glover-style stupid is every bit, if not MORE evil/dangerous than Robertson's. Its the same midless superstition, only dressed up as educated, rational and enlightened.

    • what is your point troll? save the racist nonsense for someplace else.

there is nothing “superstitious” about the poverty in Haiti and the wealth in the US. nor is it “stupid” to consider that humans affect the planet in both known and UNKNOWN ways.

taking mr. glover's comment out of context and comparing him to Pat Robertson is extremely bad taste on many levels.

You call someone a troll, yet claim they are being racist? That's highly hypocritical of you.

And, temperature of the earth has nothing to do with how much the tectonic plates move around. I don't know how pepole don't grasp this basic scientific idea.

      • How is he being racist…at all? It's racist for him to express his opinions? Is everyone whose opinion differs from yours a troll?

  7. Don't discount Glover's comments. He is, after all, a Scientologist.

  8. GoodDoktorBad | Jan 15, 2010 at 6:43 pm |

He may not have articulated his views very well but compared to Pat Robertson, Danny Glover is a bloody saint.

    • I agree Dok and you're right, it probably was unfair to Mr. Glover to suggest that his name appear in the same sentence at Pat Robertson's. His statement was still ill-advised, though, to say the least. No doubt that his heart is in the right place on Haiti.

It's funny watching the leftist tools fall all over themselves to justify what this idiot said, just like the right-wing tools defending Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh. You binary-brains are all the same.

Glover was clearly not referring to global warming or climate change as a cause for the earthquake but clearly as a consideration for the international community to take into account regarding third world countries such as Haiti in the future. Disgusting to compare it to Pat Robertson's comment. Absolutely sensational reporting and bad form for anybody trying to make their reputation as a journalist to suggest it in the headline.

Ok, I'm 100% sure he's on CRACK! That's the only Explanation!
    What an Idiot!

  12. Pat Robertson said what he said because of all the Voodo and Santeria that goes on in Haiti. It is a terrible disaster what happened to human beings in the poorest nation in this hemisphere. On the other hand, with all due respect Mr. Glover doesn't know what he's talking about. I am a Cuban born Naturalize American citizen and if you have not suffered through communism or socialism you should not comment on it. My view is that he does not love or is proud of this country, the best in the world as far as I'm concerned. Just because he had a smoke with Castro and saw what Castro wanted him to see doesn't make him an expert. I am proud of this country and he needs to shut up about Cuba!!!!
