Chris Matthews on Sarah Palin: ‘An Empty Vessel Ready to be Filled by Ideology She Doesn’t Understand’

I wish more of the talking heads called out those in positions of influence for what they are, an “empty vessel” is an apt description. We need more honest brokers of information. I completely agree, this line of thinking is truly “frightening” (via Hardball with Chris Matthews):

She’s frightening. Mark, that is frightening stuff. Frightening. First of all, president don’t declare war. Anybody knows that in high school. Congress has to declare war. To declare war on Iran, I don’t think the most far right, Middle East hawk will talk about declaring war on Iran, a country with 70-some million people, with an advanced air force. … Why does she talk like that? Is Michael Ledeen, a real hawk, writing this stuff for her? I don’t know anyone as far right as that, besides him.

I think this is right. People keep calling her shrewd – that she “knows her audience” and is “manipulating” them. No, she's basically a high-schooler (a dumb one), who doesn't know what she's talking about. Not a master manipulator. It says more about the people who fall for it (including the idiotic media who cheer on her stupidity).

Refreshing though – because if she ever did get the nomination, there would be more and more editorials like this. I feel a little less threatened by the coming Sarahpocalypse.

Don't forget the testosterone factor. If she can seduce young male voters to get out and vote, she'll have them eating out of her hand. I am male, but I don't find her at all attractive. I have, however, heard so many guys my age and younger say that she's hot. I know there have been people who will vote for someone simply because of how attractive they look, but this is ridiculous. She's no more than a puppet; forget the term “empty vessel” as that's too flattering. A vessel can be filled with good things or bad, but a puppet always has someone pulling its strings.

“Hot” is a relative term, if I were to see Sarah Palin across a room, not ever having met her or heard her speak, I might say she's “hot”. The problem isn't in the body, it's in her mind, or rather, the lack of it. If she stuck with baking cookies and trying new recipes for guacamole dip as her suburban soccer mom persona would suggest, we might have one less distraction (or comic relief) named Sarah Palin in our faces.
I would also happily suggest that she is a major discredit to the Republican party and spotlights the innane and self serving, self agrandizing interests that lie in its bloated belly. A Rogue indeed….
No, I don't think that Democrats are better, just a tiny bit more to the side of humans, if that. This probably represents some naivette on my part.

words cannot begin to describe this woman….

(and that has nothing to do with her looks)

    “Nothing is more frightening…”

“I know there have been people who will vote for someone simply because of how attractive they look, but this is ridiculous.”

You mean sort of like people who voted for a candidate because of his color? Look what happened there.

Gee, an idiot calls an idiot an idiot.
