  1. So cool! It's too bad it's apparently not available in the US…

    • That would be because its homemade out of a glass, a couple of plates, and a little cow figurine. This blog apparently neglected to put the story behind it, or the instructions the original creator put on how to build your own.

  2. [Apply Beavis voice here] “That is the coolest thing I have ever seen.”

I just got mine, and the person who dfescribed it as a couple of plates could not be more wrong. It is absolutely amazing, the craftsmanship is incredible. The finish is a brilliant black chrome and perfect. The “beam” is some kind of thick lucite or plex, whatever it is it puts off an amazing glow that makes the disk truly look like it’s hovering. And the cow is hilarious! He has a peg in one foot that allows him to be posed to look like he’s floating upward. It puts off pretty good light and I was surprised to discover that the interior lighting shifts colors. The aliens peering out the window were what did it for me, too cool! By warned though, the lamp is NOT wired for US current. It’s 220 volt and comes with a UK plug, so you have to get a voltage converter to run it in the US. It’s well worth it though, it looks like it belongs in a modern art museum.
