Enjoy Your Health Care Sh*t Sandwich

Health Care FactsNick P. writes on the Black Sun Gazette:

My loyal readers of Black Sun Gazette are none too surprised that I am adamantly opposed to the health care bill which was recently passed by Congress.

There’s a lot of confusion surrounding the bill, not the least bit due to a massive campaign of disinformation and lies coming from The White House and its toadies in the corporate media.

I’m sort of amazed at how otherwise rational people are joining in the Democratic Party circle jerk that is accompany yet another massive transfer of wealth from working class people to corporate elites in this country.

The health care “reform” bill isn’t anything that deserves the name reform. The very word “reform” at least tacitly implies amelioration of social ills. For those who haven’t seen it, the fact sheet from Fire Dog Lake — a “progressive,” pro-Democratic Party blog — explains a lot about what is wrong with the bill. It doesn’t protect or aid the people it purports to and requires you to pay a large part of your income to, not a tax pool, but private companies. The bill puts pressure on insurance companies to provide fewer services of lower quality with higher co-pays which means that many people at the bottom levels of society will be paying for services that they can’t even use. The elevator pitch version? Insurance companies basically wrote this bill, Joe Lieberman pushed it and insurance company stocks are skyrocketing. If you need to know more than that, I’ve got a dollar I can loan you to buy a clue.

It seems a little better than the last shit sandwich we had, not much though, don't get me wrong, a lot of poor people's money going into the hands of the already wealthy. It's like a shit sandwich, but with lettuce on it.

Uhm, yeah, there's definitely a lot of confusion apparently. Sheesh. Insurance companies wrote the bill? Joe Lieberman pushed it? This person must be writing from a parallel universe that has a different Health Care Reform that just passed. Because he can't be talking about this universe's.

What I love about Disinformation.com is it posts things like this but makes no claims to the material's worth. It's important to see what the lunatics are up to along with everybody else. I'll file this Black Sun Gazette item under the same category I place the “Atheists are smarter than everyone else” items, which is the rubbish bin.

The assumption you are using to back your argument with is that this bill will not help anyone or that the only thing that is going to come from this is that the wealthy will get richer. I'm pretty sure that,s not what its doing please if you are going to write about something please read reliable information

The whole process of this hcr has been troubling from the moment single payer was off the table. I do find it troubling the lack of propoganda commercials and advertisements from health insurance companies. If they like this thing then I'm worried. Yet there's a part of me that wonders if maybe this is a step towards a single payer system that's, yes, socialist. Not to go off on a rant but what's the big F'ing deal with socialist programs? We already have alot of them from the military to libraries, streets, fire and police departments, mail services and more. I don't see people screaming for the death of the US postal service. Just keep things in balance. Right wingers are so mentally unstable with this kind of sh-t. But back to health care. Clearly, it's the issue that's given the right, something to grab onto and be dicks about. The violent threats and actions and general inflamed rhetoric is absolutely insane. When I hear ANYONE complain about the health bill's costs, I always wonder just where the hell they've been for the past 7 years when Bush turned a surplus to a deficit, spending 12b/month on the Iraq war and dishing out no bid contracts to companies members of his cabinet headed or are deeply in bed with. When I hear from opponents of the health bill that it's another big government takeover, I ask where the hell were you with your placards storming the halls of congress when Bush ok'd warrentless wiretapping and the Patriot Act both seriously unconstitutional. No, this isn't about the issues they say. This is about having a black man in the White house. Or maybe it's that they're just sore losers and can't deal with anyone with a D after their name. Buncha whiny crying babies. After 8 years of Bush's horse sh-t pathologies, now it's their turn to suck on it. SUCK HARD!

How is forcing someone to buy insurance from a private company socialist?

That part of it sounds down right fascist. There's alot of aspects of the bill I just don't understand at this point. My previous post I just wanted to comment on the hypocricy of the right. Looking at the bill on it's own terms, without political glasses, it doesn't sound too good.

Watching the ongoing Sinification of American politics from a remove of 6,000 miles does have it’s advantages; I think that, between the bailouts, nationalizations, and now this mighty handover of our dollars and privacy to an entrenched corporate oligarchy it’s safe to say we’re living in a world where the men resemble the pigs and the pigs resemble the men, and none can tell the difference.
How long before people line up for jobs at America’s State-Owned Enterprises? We’re there.
How long before we’re butchering brown people in central asia in the name of “security”? Oh wait- we’ve been doing that for years, too.
How long before the tanks roll through downtown Washington? On that account, probably never; I can’t imagine half a million Americans occupying the national mall for six weeks straight, calling hunger strikes and demanding negotiations with the Cabinet. Or the national guard and cops stripping off their uniforms to join the protests. Unfortunately I can all to easily imagine a division of battle-hardened 1st Armored troops mowing down “traitorous” protesters by the hundreds. And militias and spartacists with hunting rifles and cast-off M16s won’t make a plum bit of difference versus the might of the pentagon.

I plan on opening my own coffee shop one day and right now am planning potential food offerings. I would like to offer soups and sandwiches but I want to have others’ opinions of what kinds of soups and sandwiches compliment eachother as well as go with coffee beverages.
