Say Hello To Your Little Friends: ‘Scarface’ Portrayed With Child Actors (Video)

Scarface

How cute. They use popcorn instead of cocaine.

Don’t be too alarmed parents of small children … I’ve already read this wasn’t a real school play.

It’s a music producer’s (strange) sense of humor at work with professional child actors.

From his statement via the Snopes article, I see his point. Parents are complicit in the sexualization of near toddlers (beauty pageants), but this obvious satire got their hackles up. Because, of course, children shouldn't be exposed to violence until they can operate the TV remote on their own.

Haha I saw this video on another site and was like “ok, awesome… but scary.” Then later when I heard they were child actors I was like “ok phew, that wasn’t a real school play…” But then I was thinking “But aren’t those still real kids? Does calling what they’re doing a ‘career’ (clearly chosen by the parents, no?) suddenly make it less strange?”

Just random thoughts, I don’t think any of these kids are really scarred or “ruined” by this experience… If they had decent parents they can learn to understand make believe and role-playing / acting for the purposes of entertainment, but doesn’t it still make you wonder about parents who choose for their children to be child actors?
