Video Of Maryland Police Brutally Beating Student

Walking on campus as students celebrated a basketball victory, University of Maryland student John McKenna was suddenly surrounded by a group of police officers, on foot and horseback, who began beating, kicking, and clubbing him. The police claimed that McKenna had attacked them, and he was charged with assaulting an officer. Luckily, the event was caught on tape.

He was asking for it. Look how he was dressed.

  3. it's disgusting how these peace officers acted and it enrages me that the title on the vid, not the article headline, includes the word “allegedly” when in total visual context it is apparent that the incident includes acts predetermined and carried out by the officers…it is in no way “alleged” that they carried out this action. the officers DID carry out the action

  4. Those cops are laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame.

Blatant police brutality. It reminds me of the 1971 “Stanford Prison Experiment.” Where Stanford psychologists Philip Zimbardo and Craig Haney recruited psychology graduate students to play “guards” and “inmates.” Zimbardo himself was the warden. The experiment had to be abandoned after several days because the guards quickly got abusive—not physically because the experimenters controlled that. But their emotional and verbal aggressions, their sense of entitlement, got the best of them. They could not just play a part. The part became a part of them. I was downtown last night, and a group of policemen shoved a man up against a wall and started screaming at him after he presumed to j-walk across the street. Unnecessary, ridiculous. While there ARE a lot of noble/honest cops serving in the force, there are also many corrupt men and women with big superiority complexes hiding behind their badges. Luckily a man came running up with a decent camera, and the cops cooled down quickly.

Follow the emerging trend of yelling CAMERAS READY! every time you see anyone dealing with police. Tell your friends. Make a Youtube video and post it. Make it your facebook status. Change your twitter feed name to Cameras Ready. The more private the encounter the more danger the citizenry faces. Calling out CAMERAS READY! for someone else may get you the favor returned one day.
