What’s Your Favorite Film or Documentary About Conspiracy Theories (And Facts)?

Disinformation’s Raymond Wiley started this conversation over on Disinfo’s Facebook Wall and a great question for disinfo.com readers to address (if you haven’t already).

I See AllI’m partial to Oliver Stone’s filmmaking … and I can’t wait for his Wall Street sequel later this year.

Here’s a bit of JFK that is about the power of questioning established truth, regardless of how entrenched that “truth” might be.

I’ll let the film speak for itself and do share your favorite films or film moments:

Not sure it's so much a conspiracy film but I think Network is the most prescient straightforward telling of the way it is film of the last 35 years. Entertaining as hell too. I think The Matrix is pretty good too. It may not come across immediately as a conspiracy film but I don't think it's too much of a stretch to draw conclusions that there are powers that be that control our minds and the way we perceive the world. The whole people as batteries thing can be viewed as a way of 'charging off', the method that the fed reserve uses to make their deals with our birth certificates as collateral creating for us our straw man that we've been duped into believing was real our whole lives.

The musical, “1776″. Face it – the country was founded by a conspiracy that started in bars. As alternate title might be, “Rum and Revolution”.

“Steal This Movie” is pretty good too. And I second all the movies mentioned by aramchek and honu.

After watching the movie 'Farenheit 911' when it first came out, I was waiting for Michael Moore to be hammered with defamation suits, to be called a liar even be charged with treason. But…….nothing. Hmmm
Watching his movie 'Sicko” made me glad I don't live in the USA and I also recommend 'the Corporation'.

Zeitgeist is a brilliant film/documentary and i think it’s free to download from their site or it’ll probably be on Piratebay. There are two squels too, the first is called ‘Addendum’ and is all about money and is reasonably good but the final one (can’t remeber the name) is not very good and a bit hippyish.

Can’t rate Zeitgeist highly enough. It makes Farenheight 9/11 look like a comforting children’s bedtime story!
