Druid Stones Prevent Car Accidents In Austria

If they wanted, could druids use their powers to cause accidents? The U.K.’s Metro reports:

Austrian motorway authority ASFINAG said it was skeptical at first and kept the project a secret. But it went public after the druids’ efforts cut the number of deaths at the notorious crash site from six a year to zero in two years.

Arch druid Ilmar Tessmann was called in as a last resort after a high number of fatal accidents were reported on a straight stretch of motorway near Salzburg.

He said the crashes were caused by radiation from a nearby mobile phone mast disrupting the area’s normal ‘terrestrial’ radiation. As well as using quartz standing stones to restore the area’s ‘natural energy’, the druids…[buried] magnets in the ground.

        the answer is – D. all of the above. it's lloyd's pick-up line to the austrian girl in the beginning of dumb and dumber. i always think of it when i see anything about austria.

    Interestingly enough what this 'arch druid' is doing is very similar to what an energy sensitive Orgonite user would have done. The 'pucks' of Orgonite are called 'tower busters' for just this reason – cell phone and other communication towers like that put out harmful EMF and you would use Orgonite (a matrix of metal (inorganic) and resin (plant-derived, organic) surrounding a quartz crystal) to 'filter' this energy and nullify it's negative effects on the surroundings (it doesn't affect the 'normal' use of the tower it's placed around, ie it's not 'busting' the tower in the sense of disrupting communications). More advanced Orgonite designs use magnets as well, and with my experience with the substance would tell me to expect a similar result, though not with the need for any kind of further 'psychic maintenance'. I prefer to think of it as a kind of 'solid state folk magic'.
