‘Hey Obama, Give Me A Freakin’ Job’

More anti-Obama billboards, reported by Yahoo News:

“I need a freakin’ job.” That’s the message President Obama saw as he arrived in Buffalo, N.Y., this afternoon for an event talking up the administration’s success in creating new jobs. He also pitched Congress on approving a $30 billion credit for small-business growth.
Yet critics say Obama has been focusing his recovery efforts too narrowly and hasn’t done enough to help people find work. After all, the latest job figures show 9.9 percent of the country still out of work. That inspired a group of unemployed Buffalo residents — who also have a website called INAFJ.org — to appeal to the president in the form of a billboard along the route his motorcade took into town. Here is a photo of the billboard:

I don't recall the Constitution outlining hiring-and-firing of gadfly activists as one of the President's duties.

The difference between this recession and the Great Depression of the '30s is that 80 years ago people were willing to take any employment they could find, willing to relocate, willing to work any hours at any wage that'd pay the bills. Today, a great many of the unemployed are spoiled brats who refuse to take a job for less than they think they're worth, or for work they believe is beneath their dignity. There are lots of jobs in 2010 America … just not necessarily jobs that make use of your HTML coding skilz and your keen ability to analyze Lacanian symbolism in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In short, there's always work for hard-working people … but lazy middle-class intellectuals are another story.

Amazing. Not that I disagree with the sentiment…the country needs freakin jobs…

…but I didn't notice billboards with “I'd like my Bill Of Rights back, asshole.” or “Are enough of our kids dead yet? End The War!” or “Hey Dubya an' Dick, how bout we not rat out our own spies from now on?”

8 years of silence mingled with “We should show respect to the office of the presidency in war time!” means that anyone just getting around to whining like a little butthurt bitch now can STFU and burn in hell. When we needed you, you were as AWOL as your precious leader was during Vietnam, now you want to cry because the other team is screwing things up??? Please…find another country…this one doesn't need you, doesn't want you, and deserves better.

I agree that it is not the presidents job to get involved in the economy. We were founded on the ideals of a Free Market. That has slowly changed throughout our history. That also means that he should not get involved by passing pointless stimulus packages that hurt our economy more than helping due to inflation and national debt. I also have to say how can people relocate when they do not have money to do that. My wife and I moved recently and the move took up most of our savings due to the expenses of moving. Also when you finally do get a job the companies know that they can screw you over because there are hundreds more people to fill your position. It is not just lazy middle class our society is setting us up to fail

uh yeah. This “grassroots movement” stinks of right wing political funding. It kind of comes off as apolitical and generalized tea bagging anti government ranting stuff but there's just enough vagueness in the goal of this group with far too much professionalism and style in the website (selling tshirts too?? c'mon) to make me squint my eyes with suspicion. The right wingers, trying to be hip since…since….forever and failing always.

*sigh* I realize the billboard is probably more concerned with attacking the President then actually getting people jobs but really?
Why would anyone in their right mind wait around for someone else to GIVE them a job?
Give me a job? …give me a menial and demeaning enslavement that can be taken away or outsourced anytime. give me humiliation at having to beg for my worth from some idiot boss. Take over my life, order me around, organize my time for me and (in the case of drug testing) determine what i can do even on my own free time.
Anyone out there really waiting around begging for someone to GIVE you a job?
Why not start your own enterprise, your own business, earn your own money, be your own boss?
Set your own hours, your own limits, your own goals.
The model of “getting a good job” left with 8- track tapes. Things are different now.

Why are you surprised? Why think this is nothing more than unjustified criticism of the great leader, blessed be his name? Is that the automatic reaction anyway? Are you all that brainwashed by now? Come on people, at least allow yourself to use your brain! Obama got a lot of support from voters who think the government should give them a job, and money. That was what 'change' was largely about. Of course a lot of these supporters are complaining now. And why are you even thinking of defending Obama? The guy is the last nail in the coffin of the USA.

I'm not an American, I'm not saying the republicans are the better option (yet they're not worse than the democrats, they're the same gang), but how can one not be shocked by Obama's policy, his strengthening of the police state, including militarizing the boy scouts and making school kids singing songs for him, the North-Korean way – his criticism of the internet, the tent cities, his destruction of the economy and the working class, by placing an ever greater financial burden on the latter. His secrecy (Bush's secrecy was nothing compared to his), his cultural Marxism in the style of the Frankfurter schule, his warmongering, his connections to Wall Street, the military industrial complex, the CIA and the CFR – the fact that he has been prepared for a political function for the better part of his life, the conflicting stories he and his wife told about his roots, … the list goes on and on. How can you stand for this? And never forget: before Obama was elected, he was selected.

Also, Obama gets carte blanche from the world's most important, hysterically politically correct media, unlike Bush – this makes Obama twice as dangerous.

With all due respect Chlod, for someone who's not American, you sure seem to be enjoying the anti Obama rhetoric. First of all Obama's secrecy cannot be compared to Bush's. To begin with he hasn't even been in office that long to make such a charge. But let's compare. Bush had plants at his news conferences (which btw were the fewest given by a modern president) like Jeff Gannon so he had softball questions being asked by many, the rest of the media were impotent. Bush chose evidence that suited his war path agenda to start the Afghan/Iraq wars, his so called town hall meetings were carefully screened with audiences that supported his positions, his no-bid contracts to companies he and his cabinet were tied to in various ways, the Patriot Act (bigger govt.), warrantless wiretapping (bigger brother govt. and unconstitutional….yeah yeah Obama supports this and the Patriot Act too I know). How about using the DOJ to root out any left leaning sympathizing politicians to keep dissention to a minimum? At Obama's news conferences which he gives regularly and town hall meetings which are open to the public, he has the crazy right carrying semi-auto weapons around. Bush had any dissenters penned up in “free speech zones”.

And Obama not being elected but selected? And what exactly do you think G.W. did to deserve to be elected? Run oil companies into the ground, go awol in a champagne natl air guard unit and be a cheerleader at Yale? The man is Herbert Walker Bush's son, former President, Vice President and head of the CIA. Don't ya think this might have a wee bit of an influence on his ability to become president? Bush's intelligence alone should have prevented him from ever being arm's length distance from the White House. The whole birther thing is a lie ok? Unless you show me otherwise, don't make up B.S. and pass it off as conspiracy.

I think there's really no evidence for Obama doing anything close to these kinds of acts so let's not pretend Obama is the same as Bush much less twice as worse. Talk about using your brain….try using yours before spouting off. Lastly, I'll say I don't support Obama that much. He supports the Patriot Act and the warrantless wiretapping which basically killed it for me. I like him considerably more than Bush but I think realistically, i'd have to say that there's machinations at work in this country that would keep any president from making true radical change at this point. The whole system is hardwired with corporations.

What a waste of money. Billboards cost at least $10k+. That money could have been better spent putting orgone out there to combat chemtrails and elf waves coming from cell phone towers.

anyone who believes 1 word any politician says deserves whatever they get,
want to make a real change, work to break the current political process, what we have no is a system
in which every politician is bought before anyone ever hears from them and each gang uses 1 or 2 hotbutton useless issues like religion, gun control/rights and abortion to keep most citizens in their pens like livestock.
it's a sham democracy in which bankers and the rest of the neo-nobility choose a candidate and then have a show election to convince the masses that they actually have a say, voters, collaborators in their own slavery
deserve whatever deciet they get from their masters.

Not a fan of this billboard. It seems they are trying to represent people my age, but I certainly have not heard any of my friends saying, “Hey Obama, Give me a job!” If they were I suppose they wouldn't be my friends. It's a bit lame. More likely, “Hey Schwarzenegger, give me a job.” That, I have heard.
