Catch 22 For Right Wing Conservatives: Support Climate Change Actions Or Suffer Mass Immigration From Mexico

You have to love the irony of this: right-wing conservatives in America tend towards the climate change denial camp and refuse to support measures to combat global warming, yet a new report suggests that if we don’t arrest the warming trend, there will be unprecedented mass migration from Mexico into the U.S. — another issue that drives this crowd crazy. Reported in the Los Angeles Times:

Climbing temperatures are expected to raise sea levels and increase droughts, floods, heat waves and wildfires.

Now, scientists are predicting another consequence of climate change: mass migration to the United States.

Between 1.4 million and 6.7 million Mexicans could migrate to the U.S. by 2080 as climate change reduces crop yields and agricultural production in Mexico, according to a study published online this week in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The number could amount to 10% of the current population of Mexicans ages 15 to 65.

“Assuming that the climate projections are correct, gradually over the next several decades heading toward the end of the century, it becomes one of the more important factors in driving Mexicans across the border, all other things being equal,” said study author Michael Oppenheimer, professor of geosciences and international affairs at Princeton University…

          You're right, some of you are either too poor to hire mexicans to mow your lawn for you or have bred sufficiently to provide your household years of yardwork (at the cost of borrying the car Friday night, Dad you promised! I even weedwacked!).

          I'm of the “too poor” variety (actually, “doesn't give a shit enough about my lawn” fits better) , but when I look all around at the nicely groomed houses in my suburban neighborhood, I rarely see a white guy mowing a lawn, unless he's also barking orders at a few latinos.

            It's not that I'm too poor to hire someone, or that I have kids that can do it for me. I'm just not going to pay someone to do something that I can do for myself. That goes for a lot of things, not just mowing the lawn. Plus, I can definitely use the exercise :)

    More fear mongering regarding global warming. Don't blame the conservatives for being the first to figure out the man made global warming scam, they were simply more open to the idea than the liberals. If you think the proposed carbon tax is going to do much more than line the pockets of the elite you are living in a dream. The reasons for getting away from petroleum are many, the Gulf of Mexico is a perfect reason. The ill effects on peoples health is another and the military commitment is a third. A substance that only makes up 0.04% of the atmosphere is not a viable reason and that's all that CO2 there is.

      even if it's a hoax that is no reason not to invest in sustainable building, alternative energy and other technological upgrades as well as real conservation, this idea of all in total consumption that many conservatives believe in will sink the planet even if global warming isn't to blame.

      Migration is what animals do immigration is what humans do. I could explain the difference if you like but ill save your time. Also to the article, AGW is a fraud a plan 2 implement a world government through a carbon tax. I am not gona go down the whole debate of climate change as in climate change is natural and has happened for the whole span of the earth. What i will point too is look at the whole U.N. proposal to solve it its a pay for your sin system it wont change anything… except change your bank numbers.

    Never mind there's no democratic majority in Western countries for a so-called 'green' policy, 'cause most people see through the lies and they know they're not going to benefit from a green economy – yet a green economy is shoved through our throats anyway. This nicely illustrates the anti-democratic nature and ambitions of the green movement and there bankster friends, it also means the end of a political system – which was pretty dead already .

    Luckily, the people of the world are catching on. Sadly, Disinfo seems out of touch with the current radical understream in Western society. One has to ask itself: why does Disinfo pick the side of the rich and the powerful on the issue of global warming?

    To the author of this article I'd like to say that long before the left was interested in an issue like ecology, rightwing European parties were already enforcing strict green rules in their own countries. You might want to look into this issue.
