Sarma earned his M.A. in religious studies and his Ph.D. in philosophy of religion from the University of Chicago. He has a B.A. in religious studies from Reed College in Portland, Ore.

    Does Mr. Sarma (I'm in the camp that believes “Dr.” should be reserved for medical doctors) have any commentary on the numerous atrocities committed by Hindus? Such as the violent persecution of Chrisians in Orissa state, India; or the monumental human rights violations against Dalits?
