MediaMatters Shreds Andrew Breitbart

Mediamatters tells us “Never Trust Andrew Breitbart.” Do you think he’s lost all credibility, or actually gained some amongst Tea Party types?

Anyone who views Breitbart as a credible source in the first place will not be swayed by anything the dreaded MSM says to expose his tactics. It merely reinforces their convictions. That's the source of all right wing media power.

Of course, the same holds true in reverse. A left wing con artist can only gain credibility in the eyes of their flock if they are attacked by Rush, Beck, or Rove.

    • Facts just don't count for much anymore.

Again, that's why stuff like The Daily Show is so effective, winning people over with positive affect (laughter).

  2. Breitbart is a straight up scumbag!

  3. Bit of a quandary as I already don't trust Media Matters (or FAIR, for that matter). So, should I trust them when they say not to trust someone else?

It's almost like anyone who works themselves into a position of high public visibility has an agenda which they're dedicated to pursuing, regardless of its verisimilitude.

    • FAIR clearly has an agenda, which I'm okay with, but they're not particularly good at what they're doing. “Counterpunch” comes off as snide and bitter, and their claim to be some kind of impartial “media watchdog group” is laughable. IMHO, the Daily Show does their job better by orders of magnitude.

  4. Amongst retarded douchebags, Breitbart always had credibility…and still does…but as far as his ability to push off his crap in a questions-free atmosphere…oh yeah…those days are f*ckin' over even on Faux News. You know you've f*cked up really good when even Murdoch's fake news GOP-Pravda network starts double checking your work.

    • You think the media is more critical now?

      • Not in a broad general sense…but with regard to obvious frauds posing as journalists…more than they were a couple weeks ago.

Likewise, not because they care deeply about quality…but because being called out loudly in public for letting an amateur hack softball them into publishing fraudulent slanderous garbage isn't fun.

If this incident makes a few editors check things a little more carefully in the future just to save themselves the humiliation later…so much the better.

Here’s a man who puts innocent people out of work in the middle of a fracking economic Depression caused by the kind of people he admires.

Do I even have to mention just how bad this guy’s karma is? He’s gonna spend his next 12 lifetimes as a dung beetle pushing poop around. Which really isn’t much different from his current job as a Republican hack.
