America’s Opinion On The Ground Zero “Mosk”

Wonkette discovered a novel way of gauging America’s opinion on the proposed mosque in Lower Manhattan: search on Openbook for the term “mosk,” and let the entertainment begin. (Openbook, of course, is a site which shows status updates of Facebook users too dumb to use any privacy settings.)

    If anyone hates sharing that 'good ole American freedom' with anyone else that much…feel free to exercise the freedom to get the fuck out. We really, really don't need you…especially the illiterate ones. A dude off the boat from Qatar probably has a better grasp of English…and freedom…I welcome him…because hearing him speak or seeing him write won't make me cringe as badly as the above did.

      I agree, people know this, it’s just the ignorant media whores/media followers making this such a big deal that really get to me. Whether they build a Mosque or not, doesn’t affect ANYONE in the least bit. This is a media circus distraction. Ask questions about 9/11, don’t get caught up in the mainstream garbage bread circus over this Mosque. Gah….

    “Mosk” is antiquated, but it's a valid transliteration of the term for a Muslim house of worship.

    From 1800 to the early 1900s, “mosk” was widely used in scientific, historical, religious and other publications:

      When grammar is spelled with an “e”, they don't get the benefit of the doubt. Also, thier and ther. If mosque was the only misspelling (which it absolutely is for everyone who was not created by HG Wells) then your point would be valid. Of course, searching now pretty much brings up everyone talking about searching for mosk on openbook, and oddly enough an arab gentleman using that spelling. So you're right on the spelling, but most people who use that spelling aren't doing so because their copy of the dictionary is from 1880.

    Yes, this is fun. One online forum I visited featured quite a few Tea Baggers who were quite upset about all these “Muslins [sic] runnin' about OUR country”. Thank God these brave people have the courage to call attention to the hidden danger of the loosely-woven cotton fabrics in our very bedrooms!

    Funny – I just tried to post the Openbook site to Facebook and I found myself unable to because the site had been flagged as abusive or spammy. By those standards, Facebook should also be blocking itself. Smells suspiciously like censorship to me …

    The muslims are moving to United States to have their children U.S. citizenship established. I studied with muslims while going to college and learned of the plan to slowly take over of the running of this country according to the Koran. Muslims are trained and taught to believe that Christians are infindels to be erradicated from the face of the earth. The young men were explaining they are taught all of the laws and language in order to blend in with the Americans. PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP and observe what is going on. Muslims are saying they need to instruct Americans! …. This is not just another religion but a HOLY WAR that has been well planned. Look up on the internet and see how many Muslims have infiltrated our society! Even now as Christians, we are loosing more of our rights to teach Christianity in our schools and having Islam culture invade our land. God sent Abrahams son, Ismail and his mother away because he would not obey and bow down to the next ruller Isacc as taught in Genesis. Muslims only know how to communicate with violence and domination. There are many mosques all over the United States and growing more and more in numbers. Our Military is needed here in the United States to defend against all the illegal aliens, suspected terroists and radical groups. Obama is missing the entire point of the “peoples” message and has lost his ability to lead this nation. As Ms. Clinton warned, the country is headed for a traggic reliance on communist countries by enabling our government with more lending, more bondage and thus less freedom.
    Lets start a new discussion:
    How many mosques are in America as of today.
    How many more are planned to be built.
    What are their goals?
    I will tell you, they will try to teach and recruit but if you do not decide to join the Islamic movement, you will be eradicated from this earth as they have said all along.

    Observe the muslims communities and talk with the college students. Just see how freindly they are towards their fellow citizens. The only reason to build a mosque at ground zero is to make a fool of the U.S. They have no regards for our teachings or tolerance for our country. They all need to leave this country.

    It would seem to me that the people of this great nation are forgetting our founders…what the Constitution says about One nation under “GOD”….How can we sit idly by and let most of our founding rights be pushed aside??
