A Response to Kevin Barrett’s 9/11 Truth News Attacks

A blog post by Cosmos at 911 Truth News:

When we launched 9/11 Truth News, we knew we would be attacked.

And no one on the team was surprised when the first attacks came from people claiming to be on the side of 9/11 truth.

On Monday August 30, 2010, it came to my attention that I was the target of three hit pieces that had been published in rapid succession. The most prominent of these attacks came from Kevin Barrett, a self-declared 9/11 truth leader with a long history of actions and statements considered by many to be extremely discrediting to the 9/11 truth movement. Under an ugly, libelous headline on his “Truth Jihad” blog, Barrett issued a venomous litany of bizarre accusations against me: I’m probably an agent of the state, perhaps stalking his family, I’m a “wrecker” getting him kicked off conference lineups and – to top it off – there’s evidence that I may actually be living a secret double life as a supporter of the official 9/11 story.

Barrett has been accusing associates of mine of being agents for years now, so these kinds of weird lies are nothing new. This time though, his headlined defamation was something altogether more sickening. The filth oozing forth from Kevin Barrett does not deserve to be dignified with any kind of response whatsoever. But the fact that these smears represent an attack on a dedicated activist with a very strong record – by a supposed “9/11 truth leader” with a large audience (multiple appearances on FOX News, a radio show, books for sale) – at a very critical time in this movement – demands that the issue be addressed.

Barrett claims, based on “evidence” provided to him by a blogger named Adam Syed (aka kameelyun), that I have been attempting to deceive the public about the nature of my relationship with Mark Rothenberg, a family friend who was often referred to as “uncle Mickey”.

Mark Rothenberg was murdered on 9/11…

Hello, I would just like to know how you respond to “National Geographic: 9/11 Science & Conspiracy”? Are they way of base? Did they get some things right? Please, I’d really like to know as a FORMER “Truther”. Please persuade me back if you can. Thank you for your time.

Dude, nobody really gives a rat’s ass what you think (probably a paid time waster, not unusual at this site).

Really, any American — especially those over the age of 35 — who can read, should have either figured it out by this time or is a certified Ameritard (a variant of the American zombie consumertard).

One looks at the backgrounds of those passengers aboard those four airliners that day, two of which don’t show up in the FAA flight registry as they were DOD special charter.

Find out for yourself, punk ass.

lol. I’d love to know where all these supposed paid shills are getting their jobs from I want in. Seems wherever you go on the internet, from video game websites to mamajonescrochetfunhouse.com there’s always a paid operative at the root of someone having a difference of opinion.

You’d want to apply to the US Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Manufacturers, Financial Services Roundtable, Business Roundtable, and the TIA (I may be off with that last group, they were formed not so long ago).

If you are related to anyone at Burson Marsteller, you would have a ready in for a position. Please let me know how it goes.

It’s not so much that I take the site so seriously, but timewise you are on target.

About one year ago, certain organizations begin fielding bots with natural language interfaces, along with callout centers targeting radio call-in shows and web sites, for various and sundry misinformation, disinformation and irritant commenting.

My seriousness stems from my wish that the Web be confined principally to humans, and not eff’ed with in this manner.

Dude I would LOVE to be a paid shill or some sort of double agent, I can instigate like a motherfucker

        • Christopherdemilio | Sep 8, 2010 at 12:15 am |

Hahaha, seriously! I want that job to. Thank you for fostering an open debate, and not writing me off as some “Google Division” of the CIA.

Woah now, seriously, just trying to have an open debate. I’ve been visiting this site for 6 years and I like it. I’m not a “paid time waster” as you accuse me of. I will look into the FAA flight registry because that does sound intriguing. I’ve done a lot of research in 6 years, and I don’t appreciate being called a punk ass. I just want to understand what happen that day, and your narrow minded response slows that up. Thank you for your input.

        Punk ass 😉

        • Anonymous | Sep 8, 2010 at 7:54 pm |

Sorry, Mr. C, but there is an entire league of individuals and bots out there who do nothing but request and request and request in a neverending fashion, and appear only to waste real humans’ time.

My mistake. (And FYI, there have appeared over the past several years a number of government-run honey traps of some sort — not sure they actual purpose — and frequently they sport the word “populist” or “populism” in thei URL.)

    • I’m curious about you being a former truther. Wondering what changed your mind? I’m not a fan of being labeled a conspiracy guy for believing that there was something fishy about what happened that day but so be it. I can’t speak to the Natl Geo report but the reason why I believe the official story is bogus is that nobody seems to adequately address and answer a few things I find important to convince me otherwise. One, jet fuel doesn’t burn hot enough to melt steel and even if it did, why would the twin towers collapse the way they did into their own footprints. To push all the concrete, steel and other debris out of the way as they collapsed at free fall speed fits all too well as an example of controlled demolition. Two, WTC 7 certainly had no where near the damage of the other two towers yet it collapsed also as a picture perfect controlled demolition. Three, the commision claims it was the fires that collapsed the towers yet never has there been a steel structure that collapsed due to fire before or since. There’s more details that still keep me thinking but these seem to be the main issues for me in regards to what might have happened that day.

Many, many years ago, as a very young newspaper boy, I delivered both the morning and evening editions of the two major dailies in the city I lived. I recall then, although it made no sense to me at that time, I remembered it, that an attorney named Rankin (actually the FBI director’s attorney, also) involved with the Warren Commission, boasted on a TV interview, that they would get to the bottom of what Oswald was doing attending school at Monterrey.

Only later, when I was in the military did I recall this interview. As anyone knows, the Defense Language Institute is for the studying of languages and only open to members of the US military and the federal government (or those foreign guests, for intel purposes, they place there).

Obviously, Oswald was, as another member of the military who was a Marine Corps life and knew Oswald, studying Russian there.

After the fact, we learn many of the members of the 9/11 Commission were at odds with Philip Zelikow, who reported back directly to Cheney and appeared to be Cheney’s direct plant on that commission.

Now, recently there was published the SIGIR report (July 2010, the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction) which detailed that $8.7 billion of the the Iraq reconstruction funds went missing.

Interestingly, those funds were kept on account at the NY Federal Reserve Bank (FRBNY) of which the chairman was our present Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner. It so happens at the time that his best friend, and old college roommate and buddy, Daniel Zelikow, was the JP Morgan Chase managing director in charge of the Iraq Trade Bank/JP Morgan Chase contract overseeing those funds.

Now, I’m not suggesting everyone with the name Zelikow is not to be trusted, simply wondering what the relation may be between the two of them, given the very curious confluence of events.

        Too coincidental for my tastes.

As for the facts behind 9/11, always follow the money. The WTC real estate transaction was the biggest and fastest real estate deal in NYC history, and the Blackstone Group acted as the broker.

Afterwards, the Blackstone Group would given the management of the $1 billion captive insurance fund for the surviving relatives of the WTC destruction.

Also, Veritas Capital, shortly before 9/11/01, began investing heavily in the defense industry, clearly against the prevailing notions of that time. Veritas Capital owned Raytheon Aerospace, some of whose personnel died aboard those airliners involved that day. Veritas Capital would later make much money off of their subsidiary, Dynacorp. Later still, they would purchase the division of Kroll involved in performing government background checks on the Office of Personnel Management applicants.

Now AIG had made an investment awhile before in Blackstone Group, which would roughly be the same amount they would pay out to Silverstein Properties.

The real question behind 9/11/01: if one wishes to move trillions of embezzled dollars offshore, and destroy all evidence of that operation, and kill off all the unwitting personnel who were unknowingly involved in a compartmentalized fashion, so nobody of an honest and ethical nature would ever come forward to reveal what transpired, then launder that money through various hedge funds back through the major global stock exchanges, one would take a very close look at the data transmissions in the preceding 12 to 16 hours emanating from those two towers that day.

And take an exceedingly close look at those passengers aboard those four airliners that day, noting that some of them fell into three unique categories, while several women were probably victims of convenience, and one physicist from the Naval Surface Weapons Center likewise would have unwittingly been involved.

Unfortunately, no one who was involved in the technical offshoring of those funds lived to tell about it.

Unfortunately, the towers’ destruction officially ensured that no computer systems would be around to yield any clues (officially, that is).

Unfortunately, no passengers survived those four crashes that day.

Very clean, possibly the most diabolical criminal operation in the history of humanity.

And AIG’s subsidiaries of note: Marsh, located in one of the twin towers, and ILFC, the largest commercial aircraft leasing operation in existence.

And what corporations had extremely large cached pages denoting high volume of data transmissions in the hours prior to the morning of 9/11/01?

Cantor Fitzgerald’s TradeSpark operation, Deutsche Bank and Marsh. (These became accessible only around 2004 when the Web had reached critical mass.)

And those puts and shorts on airlines and some of the companies within those two WTC towers that went to accounts at Alex Brown? Small change from some insider making money on the side, but more importantly, Alex Brown, at that time, was a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank.

Total number surmised to be involved in the operation: from a low number of 17 people, to a high number of 23 total.

And as to how those pressure charges were placed within the two towers, simply research EurekaGGN, and what they were about at the WTC in the several weeks prior.

They suddenly happened to receive that contract to install the fiber optic cable around the same time $40 million was disbursed, via NGOs, in Afghanistan. But to whom and for what remains to be seen.

        Cutouts, anyone?

Wow, now that is an answer! Thank you for putting a lot of thought into your response, and I will research everything you just listed. Again, thank you for taking the time to give your side of what happen. Seriously.

      • Christopherdemilio | Sep 8, 2010 at 4:10 am |

Hey there, a lot of your same questions I held in high regard a year ago, and after I saw the program I was convinced that a lot of those scenarios were possible. I recommend checking out the documentary, and I would like to know what you think after.

What really changed my mind was what is called, “The Vacuum effect” when it comes to conspiracy theories. What that means basically is when you talk to someone who has a unwavering, dead set opinion of what happen, and you propose something to them that does seem to change their mind, they instantly don’t acknowledge that aspect of the situation, and they move to another aspect of the conspiracy. I.E. If I told you that steel can bend at that heat intensity, and show you facts and figures to prove it, they jump to WTC 7 collapsing, disregarding what you were previously talking about drilling you about something else that they hold to be true.

A lot of things keep me wondering about that day, but I think in the end it was was a big cluster fuck of mistakes that kept piling up and in the end there doesn’t seem to be a plausible answer to any of it.

        • Anonymous | Sep 8, 2010 at 8:02 pm |

I would also humbly suggest, whenever possible, to speak to former military with experience in command post control, or operations center experience, as well as jet jockey experience, EOD experience, military intel experience, etc.

The extraordinay manner in which America was left defenseless that day (due to an incredible number of military exercises ordered from the office of the VP and SecDef – and since when does a VP direct military exercises to occur?), and the occurrence of certain events, is why there are so many of military vets and combat vets who are in the “Truther” category.

I’m aware of Col. Bowman by reputation, but I once served with a Maj. Fritz Meyers, and while I am unaware of his thoughts on 9/11, he was one of those four pilots who came forward as an eyewitness to a ground-to-air missile of some sort having been the source for the explosion of Flight 800 (he and the other four military pilots that day were ordered by both the FBI and Pentagon to STFU).

          Take it easy, C.

While I’m not really in any camp (I have no stake in the matter not being a yank or saudi) I do remember 911Truth.com being pissed off at the time as they cooperated with nat/geo on their research and supposedly little of it was used. If you check out their site you should find their rebuttal.

      • Anonymous | Sep 8, 2010 at 12:28 am |

Actually it was 911truth.org but it no longer exists. Conspiracy or unpaid bills?

      • Christopherdemilio | Sep 8, 2010 at 4:04 am |

It did seem like some things were edited in a certain light. However, I was perplexed at their lack of rebuttal arguments on the spot. The guy from Loose Change looked a little shaken, and I thought he of all people would’ve been shaking his head the whole time and ready to pounce.

You really should look into the history of the National Geographic Society, as well as the backgrounds of its advisors, and so forth.

  5. What is it with you people and words like “libelous” and “slanderous”?

  6. A Bad Joke | Sep 8, 2010 at 8:32 am |

As an Iraq veteran, with the Army Infantry, I would like to know. First off, I know Saddam Hussein would have executed Osama Bin Ladin, and Ol’ Saddam ran a secular regime.

But, given my suspicions about 9/11 (which I was a Junior in High School for) I think there is something more. Theres always something more, and I’ll probably be in my late 70s before its revealed (I’m 25) if ever. The documents of Pearl Harbor are still secret after all.

  7. Simmer down guys! Lets get back to the story- So is Kevin Barrett a double agent or what?!

  8. note:
Despite exhortations on his web site to “Get on Kevin’s email list! Send Kevin an email,” if you send him an email that is critical of his claims, he threatens “legal and extra-legal remedies.” I blind copied him a response to someone else’s email that was also copied to him, and received that exact threat. It’s apparently “harassment” to furnish eyewitness accounts to anyone of the WTC 7 fires, showing that they were far from being minor.
