DNA Tests Show Hitler ‘Had Jewish and African Roots’

HitlerSaluteI have heard this before but looks like genetic testing is finally shedding some light on that idea. Heidi Blake writes on the Telegraph:

Saliva samples taken from 39 relatives of the Nazi leader show he may have had biological links to the “subhuman” races that he tried to exterminate during the Holocaust. Jean-Paul Mulders, a Belgian journalist, and Marc Vermeeren, a historian, tracked down the Fuhrer’s relatives, including an Austrian farmer who was his cousin, earlier this year.

A chromosome called Haplogroup E1b1b1 which showed up in their samples is rare in Western Europe and is most commonly found in the Berbers of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, as well as among Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews.

“One can from this postulate that Hitler was related to people whom he despised,” Mr Mulders wrote in the Belgian magazine, Knack. Haplogroup E1b1b1, which accounts for approximately 18 to 20 per cent of Ashkenazi and 8.6 per cent to 30 per cent of Sephardic Y-chromosomes, appears to be one of the major founding lineages of the Jewish population.

Reminds me of that movie “C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America”, a mockumentary following, in part, the career of a “charismatic” right-wing politician in an alternative timeline version of American history, one where the Confederacy won the war and slavery continued into the 21st century. That fellow ended up killing himself when a BBC documentary proved that he was not 100% “Aryan”.

Too bad this technology wasn’t available in 1933. Mebbe Hitler would have blown out his own brains and spared everyone else the trouble.

how did they get a sample of his DNA?

      Sigh.

From the first sentence of the article:

‘Saliva samples taken from 39 relatives of the Nazi leader show he may [!!!!!!!] have had biological links to the “subhuman” races that he tried to exterminate during the Holocaust.’

OOOOOo, big news. People love to brag and pontificate about their ethnic origins, the old country etc.
These distinctions begin to lose coherancy the farther back your family tree is probed. There are no pure bloods of any national or geographical origins.
Allow me to piss-off some of you culturally proud individuals. Did you know that it is likely that your furthest ancestors are African? Ever heard the term “Cradle of Civilization”? Genetically, theoretically we are all “middle eastern” or African.
Yes, even Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh are descended from dark skinned “black people”.
    ……and so was Hitler!

The “out of Africa” hypothesis is currently the _prevailing_ explanation for the origins of humanity. But it’s not the ONLY scientifically plausible hypothesis.

Which is why I used the terms: “likely” and “theoretically”

Interesting…I’m completely with you on this one. It’s still a disquieting experience.

Exactly! All this means is that he was as mixed race as the rest of us.

(Which also applied to Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dalmer, and David Rockefeller.)

      Yaaawwwnnn……

Weird-I just discovered my Sephardista (Mexican/Spanish crypto-Jews) roots this week. I guess it’s more common than people would think.

    how does it matter,
if you want to be proud of your heritage please do so,
I’m sure any culture you look at has things that we can all use as an ideal to strive for,
thinking that being from a certain one makes you better is folly.

Not that it will make a big difference. The lines that are drawn on a person like this are so powerful that no one, be they detractor or admirer, will change any opinions about him just because science opens a window into his genetic past. Goose steppers will just squeal the usual noises about Zionist conspiracy to defame their hero…and the rest of us will just shrug and say “So what…he was still a paranoid/delusional twat.”

Maybe he could see and intimately feel the horrid potential in those subhuman races and realized that he, being mixed with superior blood, was in a remarkable position to help pave the way for a better future.
    ;)

Hitler was no different than the Spanish Conquistadors, or the English explorers representing the Americas, or no different than the U.S. government quietly continuing the crusades…representation is what changes, what does it matter how “long” it takes to annihilate another society because one believes the other is subhuman. Lucifer Principle at work.

  • 5by5

    Feh.

Newsflash: EVERYONE has “African Roots”. That’s where the human race originated from what with all the evolutioning and what not. I know — sciencey. And inconvenient for racists, which is another reason why you’ll find a whole mess of evolutional deniers in among the Christian Reconstructionist/Dominion types.

And he had one testicle, or maybe both, and was gay, but wasn’t gay, and had a coprophiliac perversion, and murdered his niece whom he loved, and possibly survived the war. The endless debate and rumor about somebody sixty years gone now is absurd. Obviously they didn’t test HIS remains and he had no direct descendants that we know of. This is conjecture at best, though I personally wouldn’t be surprised if it were true in the sense the article implies. As for the Out of Africa theory… what really matters is that it doesn’t matter at all. It certainly doesn’t mean what people take it to mean. Granted that it’s true what’s even truer still is 200,000 years ago Africa wasn’t even a concept. A German didn’t exist in any sense any more than a Kenyan. If the population was homogeneous then does it mean it is now? Look at the population of Sentinel Island to see how quickly humans can change and still be “human.” Why use the term race when breed as used for dogs is clearly more applicable? A poodle and a german shepherd’s DNA is probably pretty darn identical. Are they the same thing? Yes and no. People are the same. And they’re different. Woopty doo.

Did they discover the secret-muslim-gene in Hitler yet?

The media is ignorant of haplogroups or prefers sensationalism over reality. Eb1b is not uncommon in Europe. You need to look at the subclades and in no article I have read on this issue is the sub-clade discussed. It’s sad to see this article getting any attention here. It simply promotes ignorance regardless of what you think of Hitler.
