Stephen Colbert testified before Congress recently, and a good amount of the media have been trying to deflect from his message by accusing him of “wasting time.”
Isn’t it interesting though that they didn’t think it was such a waste of time when, a few years earlier, Chris Farley made an appearance there?
(Chris Farley rules.)
The tightness of their schedule and the importance of the upcoming debates are actually mentioned during the video, and yet the entire room rises for a standing ovation as soon as Chris Farley enters the rooms (which is, of course, the only reaction possible when he walked into a room).
Stephen Colbert’s presence was declared a “waste of time” because he was speaking up for the rights of immigrants, something very few politicians have been willing to do.
