Did 9/11 Really “Change Everything”?

From WASHINGTON’S BLOG:

We’ve been told that 9/11 changed everything.

Is it true?

Let’s look:

  • The Afghanistan war was planned before 9/11 (see this and this)
  • Cheney apparently even made Iraqi’s oil fields a national security priority before 9/11
  • Cheney dreamed of giving the White House the powers of a monarch long before 9/11
  • Cheney and Rumsfeld actively generated fake intelligence which exaggerated the threat from an enemy in order to justify huge amounts of military spending long before 9/11. And see this
  • Cheney and the rest of the neocons lamented – before 9/11 – that America could not truly project its power globally without the justification of a “new Pearl Harbor”
  • The decision to threaten to bomb Iran was made before 9/11
  • The government knew that terrorists could use planes as weapons — and had even run its own drills of planes being used as weapons against the World Trade Center and other U.S. high-profile buildings, using REAL airplanes — all before 9/11
  • The government heard the 9/11 plans from the hijackers’ own mouths before 9/11
  • It was known long before 9/11 that torture doesn’t work to produce accurate intelligence, but is an effective way to terrorize people

So did 9/11 really “change everything”? Or was it simply an excuse to implement existing plans?

Change everything? Perhaps not. Enable everything for a smoother transition from democracy to police state? Yeah…unquestionably. We can argue about motives and responsible parties until judgement day…but what isn’t subject to debate is the swiftness with which 9/11 was transformed into a carte blanche for federal authority without oversight. However we may have come here…we are here just the same, racing to beat England as the most spied upon citizenry in the world, happily flinging our rights as individuals, citizens and human beings down the toilet, and in many cases applauding as we do so.

Shock doctrine… just following Uncle Milton Friedman’s little plans to take advantage of crisis to ram through policies that nobody would ever vote for unless they were traumatized and not paying attention.

To me, the only thing worse than a terrorist, is the rightwing goober who sees a terrorist act and says to himself, “Gee, how can I exploit this for political gain?” Bush basically did that when referring to 9/11, the bad economy, and the war, he said “I hit the trifecta!” The country got hurt, and these people acted like they won the damn lottery.

Brilliant non-biased sources… And anyone who hasn’t had their head in the sand for the last 20 years knows that the above mentioned plans have been around for years, and long before Bush ever took office. The government also has plans for North Korea, China, etc. The same way fire departments practice and plan for potential mass casualty situations, the government plans possible future wars and attacks… It would be irresponsible not to.

Nothing written here is new nor surprising to anyone with double digit intelligence. People who know and have the inside scoop on the Bush Bin Laden connection go all the way back to 1934 and the Nush Walker Bank con and the financial backing of Adolph Hitler. Treason is the Bush family value best witnessed from Dealey Plaza in 1963.
