Keith Olbermann: The Dangers Of The Tea Bagger Candidates

In a special twenty-minute commentary, Keith Olbermann blisteringly indicts this election season’s wave of “tea party candidates,” entirely by quoting their own words. The picture revealed is of “a group of unqualified, unstable individuals who will do what they are told, in exchange for money and power, and march this nation as far backward as they can get.” Via MSNBC:

The Beck of the Left. He’s a government-loving sensationalist who knows how to use fear as well the Bush administration. About half of the tea party movement supports libertarian policy (rather than neo-con or similar; http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1010/44243.html). I believe many more refuse to label themselves “Tea Party” because of the focus that the media has made on the lowest element, the racists and homophobes, etc. I also don’t think many tea party candidates are qualified for the positions they’re seeking, but the fact that they beat out several career politicians with big gov’t tendencies in the primaries suggests many people are ready to adopt a “less is more” strategy with their federal government.

Because we saw how the “less is more” approach to government regulation worked out so well with the previous administration.

So limiting government influence on corporations, thus giving corporations more power, is going to make things better? Exactly how did you come to think that this makes any sense at all?
