Meet Pamela Geller, New York’s Number 1 Islamophobe

Quite why the New York Times thinks it should give hate merchant Pamela Geller such a high profile, massive write up is mystifying … unless the Times itself is conforming to an unfortunate stereotype:

Pamela Geller’s apartment, in the fashion of the blogosphere, doubles as her office. It is a modern full-floor unit in a high-rise on the East Side of Manhattan that could belong to a socialite or the editor of a lifestyle magazine. There is ample light and a tasteful lack of clutter. The kitchen appliances are made of brushed steel; the countertops are slate. In the earth-toned living room hangs a painting, in vibrant colors, of a woman in a swimsuit.

It is in this genteel setting that Ms. Geller, 52 and a single mother of four, wakes each morning shortly after 7, switches on her laptop and wages a form of holy war through Atlas Shrugs, a Web site that attacks Islam with a rhetoric venomous enough that PayPal at one point branded it a hate site. Working here — often in fuzzy slippers — she has called for the removal of the Dome of the Rock from atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem; posted doctored pictures of Elena Kagan, the Supreme Court justice, in a Nazi helmet; suggested the State Department was run by “Islamic supremacists”; and referred to health care reform as an act of national rape.

Ms. Geller has been writing since 2005, but this summer she skyrocketed to national prominence as the firebrand in chief opposing Park51, the planned Muslim community center she denounces as “the ground zero mega-mosque.”

Operating largely outside traditional Washington power centers — and, for better or worse, without traditional academic, public-policy or journalism credentials — Ms. Geller, with a coterie of allies, has helped set the tone and shape the narrative for a divisive national debate over Park51 (she calls the developer a “thug” and a “lowlife”). In the process, she has helped bring into the mainstream a concept that after 9/11 percolated mainly on the fringes of American politics: that terrorism by Muslims springs not from perversions of Islam but from the religion itself…

Do you even read any of her stuff or do just like to throw the word ‘islamophobe’ around? It’s sad to see disinfo blindly following a pc liberal agenda. Wake up! She doesn’t have a problem with religious Islam, she has a problem with political Islam and, if you like freedom, you should too.

if it’s true, as the NYT reported, that

“she has called for the removal of the Dome of the Rock from atop the Temple Mount in Jerusalem; posted doctored pictures of Elena Kagan, the Supreme Court justice, in a Nazi helmet; suggested the State Department was run by “Islamic supremacists”; and referred to health care reform as an act of national rape.”

you’re probably safe writing her off as a nutcase without having to read her garbage. nice try though

My personal favourite bit of hers was this post:

      http://atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/atlas_shrugs/2010/03/grover-norquist-hiss.html

A front seat to the implosion of the Right Wing, watching warmongers like Frank Gaffney and plutocratic disinformation agents like Grover Norquist try to tear out each other’s throats in the bubbling cauldron of their own racism and contempt for humanity.

      Encore, Pamela! More like this!

And you know damn well that she thinks of Islam in the same terms that Al Qaeda does, ie. that there’s no difference between religious Islam and political Islam. She’s just the flipside of the same extremist coin.

I’ll adopt Ms. Geller’s own style of writing for the occasion and call her a miserable piece of shit depriving worthier people of oxygen.

See… anyone can do what she does. It takes no particular skill.

That’s a lunatic with huge ears, a receding hairline, and crazy eyes. Thank you, no. Wouldn’t touch that with a ten foot dildo.
