Two Out of Three ‘Fox & Friends’ Think ‘All Terrorists are Muslim’

No one should believe that Fox & Friends is a bastion of journalistic integrity or even slightly interested in fact checking. However, the morning show took the cake in redefining those two terms this week when co-host Brian Kilmeade, declared “Not all Muslims are terrorists, all terrorists are Muslim.”

So, I suppose this would mean that the following terrorist organizations are somehow secret Muslims:

  • Provisional Irish Republican Army (Catholic)
  • Ulster Defense Association (Protestant)
  • Real IRA (Catholic)
  • Sons of Freedom (Christian)
  • National Liberation Front of Tripura (Christian)
  • Babbar Khalsa (Sikh)

The list could go on. If you spend more than ten seconds even on Wikipedia, you might learn that there are even Hindu terrorists targeting Muslims…

    Its just a reflection of our general cultural illiteracy over the last few decades. These people literally do not recall Northern Ireland being anything but a tourist destination. They do not remember The Shining Path. The Tamil Tigers. The Basque Separatists. and the list goes on and on back through the years…with Muslims coming to the game rather late. Yes…they have a strong presence now…but the lists of terrorist organizations around the globe…a list much touted by conservatives as justification for enhanced law enforcement authority …still includes radical fringe groups willing to employ violence and fear for political gain…that are not Muslim in origin. Whats changed is the degree to which our press and resources are focused completely on Muslim terrorists.

    and thats not even touching on White Power groups here and abroad, the Southern Baptist Army Of God, and myriad other clusters of Christian denominated schizophrenics with a penchant for bombs and guns over signs and words. Most people have forgotten why the KKK lost the right to act as a lobby to Congress…the plot to rush the National Guard armory in Ohio…which was undermined and failed completely to manifest in anything but arrests…and was only one of many crimes including bank robbery, kidnapping, arson and murder that were undertaken by extreme branches of political/religious movement with the goal of political gain.

    But trust Fox to whitewash that and sweep the crumbs under the rug. Vigilance against the inherently violent nature of right wing fringe politics does not serve them…or their owners.

    Yeah, this was a good laugh. With all the plastic paddies haunting the airwaves over at Fox like O’Shammity and O’Piles-y.

    Any Irish American whose spent more than two minutes at a folk fair or other cultural event knows the FBI has a file on him, and he knows damn well why, too: stereotyping and the legacy of Dutch’s buddy-buddy relationship with Lady Thatcher.

    But that’s something those phoneys at Phox don’t have to worry about. They’re all getting their fix of Irish culture safe at home watching “Darby O’Gill and the Little People.”
