Woman Caught By CCTV Throwing Cat In Garbage Bin Only Receives Fine

The fat lady who threw a cat into a garbage bin has avoided being sent to the slammer herself. However, Mary Bale — the perp caught by the UK’s ubiquitous surveillance cameras — has been fined 265 pounds ($420) for animal cruelty (per Reuters). She could have received a sentence of up to six months in jail — should she have?

No. She should recieve a medal. Free roaming cats are a menace to songbirds and spread more then their fair share of desease. There is a reason we calll them house cats. They belong in the house.

    • GoodDoktorBad

Cats are wild animals -idiot! They belong where ever they they can survive -just like “song birds”.

There is little difference between “house” cats and big cats from the “wild”. Big cats can be raised by humans and can be just as docile as house cats, the main differences are size and strength -there in lies the danger in big cats as pets. They can be playing with you, intend you no harm, and still without malice or hunger -rip your head off. Unlike you, who is obviously full of spite, malice and devoid of the decency humans are at least purported to be capable of. This woman should be arrested for being the monster that she is.
………..and you -you’re just a disgusting fool with a brain the size of a song bird.

This wasn’t a stray cat, it was a family pet that most likely had it’s vaccinations so your callous remark is not only wrong but it also shows what a lousy human you are Triangleye. Whether you like animals outside or not this doesn’t excuse the woman of throwing a living thing in a bin.

Skip the fine…settle for a swift c*nt punt for being a heinous cow. Excess animals are a problem…sociopathic cruelty is not the answer. Let the punishment be in a language she understands…abuse.

What a sick individual, she should be locked away for as long as possible. I hate putting a cat to sleep but if that’s your choice, that’s normal. Not a garbage chute. Even abandoning it to nature would be more humane. My town has quite an excess of outdoor cats (to the point that they’re everywhere and people leave food for them on fence walls) but I find it to be quite nice outside of the ones that are gross looking.

    • GoodDoktorBad

……and I’ll bet the rodent population is kept relatively low.

    I’m gonna leave this here…
    http://www.abcbirds.org/abcprograms/policy/cats/materials/predation.pdf

It is equally disgusting to vilify this women or myself based on your emotions toward cats. Regardless of any belief that they are wild animals, that unfortunately is not true. They are domesticated animals and do not require prey as a food source yet instinctively seek it out. The people at fault here are the irresponsible pet owners who allow their cats to roam free with out a bell on their collar or some other method of anti-predation. Feral cats are what become of free-roaming house cats and they push out native predators and devastate wild bird populations. I do not believe in animal cruelty of any kind and have had many wonderful cat friends in my life. They just always remained indoors. Also if you feel so strongly in your compassion for cats, why don’t you feel compassion for birds?

We don’t know what state of mind this woman was in or what her motives were, yet all of you are so quick to destroy her life and send her to jail or punch her in the cunt or etc…
If the most foolish thing any of us had ever done were caught on camera, we would all be in jail.

I am sorry if my previous comment was callous or sarcastic, but you are all kinda assholes. Myself included.

I apologize if my reply to you was mean spirited. However, your initial post came off congratulating a random act of cruelty.

I actually agree with you with keeping cats indoors as I have many feline friends who I would hate to see anything bad happen to. We could debate back and forth regarding the owners of cats that allow them to roam free.

My issue here is a human being taking time out of her life to first pet a cat, look around and then toss the cat in a garbage bin and walk away as if nothing had happened. You’re right, we don’t know her state of mind but we do know she was fined for animal cruelty. If she is mentally fit then she should serve jail time for her crime. If however she has mental health issues, she shouldn’t be allowed to walk around town unsupervised or she should be forced to seek medical treatment depending on results of an evaluation.

    • oman28

I agree with your point about roaming cats. It is a problem in the area I live in and I often find feathers etc in my yard, the most recent occasion being a baby magpie about 6-8 weeks old. And cat feaces in my vege garden.
But I don’t hate cats and I could never harm one. Cats are just cats. I just think that a cat owner who considers themselves an animal lover and then lets the cat roam at night is a hypocrite.
This woman and anyone else (including trophy hunters) who can wilfully harm any animal have a problem with dysfunctional empathy and they need help.

To Triangleye- Where do we draw the line? By giving her a slap on the wrist it sends out the wrong message to others who may commit similar acts. There are many things I am not fond of, but you don’t see me stuffing them in garbage cans. This cat was not agressive to this woman, it did not run an hide- characteristics of true feral cats. If I encountered this animal I would have guessed it was someones pet. I am appalled that someone could do such a thing with no obvious remorse. Its like the child who abuses pet and grows up to commit more serious crimes- lets just let them off with a slap on the wrist so they can grow into the menace to society they were destined to become- who cares right? Im sure you would be singing a different song if this woman snatched up a helpless bird and threw it away.

So long as we are playing God, bringing balance to urban ecosystems and justice to the bipeds who occupy it, I think we should throw our dear protagonist into a dumpster full of dead kittens–sorta like Sebastian in the Never Ending Story–and then send her for a ride through Fantasia on the back of an anthropomorphic dog-dragon that feeds on stray beasts. Of course, she would have to eat them too.

That should teach her a lesson.

Plain and simple, stop treating animals like they are on the same level as humans. No one should go to jail for killing an animal. If you can hunt a deer, bear, etc then you can kill a cat. If the cat belongs to someone then it should be settled in civil court not criminal court. If you are a Christian or Jew, read the Book of Genesis. When God found out Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit and realized they were naked, God killed a deer and gave the skin to Adam and Eve for clothing.

god also hates shaving and when women try to be equal to men, sounds right to me!
