Zach Galifianakis Smokes a Joint on Bill Maher’s Show (Video)

Zach GalifianakisOn last night’s Real Time with Bill Maher, the panel discussed the lack of Democratic support forCalifornia’s Proposition 19 (Regulate, Control and Tax Cannabis Act of 2010).

“It’s a tricky thing, politically, to jump on that bandwagon because I think that maybe people see it as taboo still,” Zach said, and then pulled a cigarette from his jacket pocket and lit it. He took a drag and then passed it across the table to Fox News correspondent Margaret Hoover, who smelled the cigarette, laughed and nodded, and handed it back.

Galifianakis then took a couple more puffs and shouted, “Oh my God, look at those dragons!”

*sigh* If this is all most of the people in our society can think about doing, then we are screwed……..

*sigh* if we have idiots who downplay the importance of a critical issue all the time, then we are screwed….

do some research on what marijuana/cannabis/hemp can do for the economy. talk about decentralization of power, anyone can grow a crop that helps out energy/medicine/food/recreation…. and its natural/green/sustainable. arbelisk, you are the reason why the world is stupid.

      • Simmer

not to mention the massive military and police structure built around prohibition, and all of the harms of a black market existing for the drug. It’s true, if all anyone cares about is getting high we’re fucked, but wanting to get high is not the point.

Legalize it already. If for nothing else do it so people will shut up about it. Either way, Zach Galifianakis is pretty good. One of my favorites. I hope his newfound fame doesn’t go to his head or kill him creatively.

    • suckacat

He died, creatively, about 8 months ago. Soon I’ll be writing the same about his fat, stinky, filthy corpse.

this bill was written horribly, putting the suppliers in charge of the entire operation. that would be the equivalent of having BP write energy policy. NOT A GOOD IDEA. this is also a great example of how democracy does not work. Until CONSUMERS unionize, they will fall prey to special interests (DEA, Federal Government, Growers, Medical Clubs, politicians who need votes/money…) every time.

Fuck the cowards. They are all going to hell.

I´d like to know what will happen for all the laws they have to pass and regulations wich will come up after the legalization. Will people pay less for their supplies than when they get it now illegally? Will people be allowed to grow private, do they need permission or screening or what?! How about the use of vehicles, will their be a “one joint” rule? I think it´s out of question that sooner or later marihuana has to be legalized for all it´s positive aspects. In thousands of years of smoking it nobody EVER died from a THC poisoning, and alone in the U.S. 1200 people die EVERY SINGLE DAY because of fucking tobbacco. It doesn´t demoralize people, it can cause a lack of motivation, but duh, so does alcohol, just that alcohol can ALSO cause aggressions, depressions, you´re not able to talk your own fucking language anymore or even stand straight , than inevitably (btw, english is not my own laguage ;D) liver damage and also death, So WAKE UP, all you critics. Ask anyone who tried alcohol and marihuana about how they felt after smoking or drinking, what makes them feel better, because, You small minded pricks, Cannabis smoking woon´t even cause a hangover feeling, after a night off RECKLESS POT SMOKING you can totally go to work and function as a little gear for your precious society clock, alright!?Try that after your regular 10 beer and 6 Whiskeys on Sunday evening. Good luck. Legalize the stuff, you deserve it after years for unfair penalties and longer inprisonment than childfuckers get , pot smokers of america ;D UNITE!

Aside from the usual “pot treats___ and can be made into ___, so ___ doesn’t want the public to have it” arguments, more people need to point out that a central reason for weed prohibition is to artificially boost crime rates and feed the for-profit privatized prison industry. Marijuana is by far the most popular illegal drug, so the war on drugs would be gutted if pot were taken out of the equation. If weed does become legal on a national level in the next few decades, it would be only because the establishment devised a way to make legal weed more profitable than prohibition.

More people need to point out that it’s a racist policy that ends up harming minorities, especially black people more than anyone else.

While regular people get thrown in jail for the exact same thing…

Enjoy your class privilege you fucking walking beard…

    • Hypnos1

Hey at least he’s using his class privilege to make a political statement… millions of people exercise that class privilege every year without making it political. Are you actually angry at this celebrity, or the system that sends minorities to prison for what people across race and class boundaries are doing? I’m guessing its the latter and this is just some misplaced rage.

      • Virgendelasvacas

I still maintain that Zach Galifianakis is nothing more than a sentient beard with legs. :P
