Graham HancockThis episode features an interview with Graham Hancock, author of Fingerprints of the Gods, Supernatural, The Sign and the Seal, and the recently released Entangled. We discuss Graham’s influential work in the field of alternative history, 2012, his recent shift from non-fiction to fiction, and his views on the “War on Consciousness.”

    Outstanding interview gentlemen; Mr. Hancock is insightful and quite scholarly. His considerations with respect to Shamanism clearly have merit, but may not necessarily manifest the society he desires. Like many that contemplate the causes of mankind’s apparent determination to fulfill apocalyptic tales of old, Mr. Hancock’s suggestion that tapping into the realm beyond, by any and all, should be approached with caution.

    Is not the Pentecostal movement a “uniquely American” example of “direct living spiritual contact daily in their lives?” The Mormon tradition has also through “direct living spiritual contact daily in their lives” developed an unique tradition whose foundation is that of the “powerful bureaucracy dominated by angry old men.” And what if Jim Jone’s direct spiritual contact wasn’t just the CIA? Mankind’s insane history is riddled with “direct living spiritual contact daily in lives.”

    Many great thinkers in these areas of understanding religious pattern and tradition have supported the developed paths put in place by the mystery schools; the reason for safeguards is not necessarily a tool of restriction and monopoly. There is no argument that priest-kings have taken advantage of these processes and still do, but there is also stinging reality in “you can’t handle the truth.”

    My point is not defense of western dogma, I too find it rather distasteful because of the many negative effects that can be attributed to the corrupted use of sacred traditions, but we should be careful in limiting our understanding of religion framed solely by alleged Abrahamic monotheism. Dr. Alan Watt, through his years of involved research approaches the subject quite well, and is highly recommended. The human psyche in our current stage of evolution is fragile and needs to be systematically strengthened as part of the process in moving from darkness to the light, regardless of the path or means taken to this end.

    um, not to be too pushy- but, when is the next episode? I need it now! Actually, at this point I have gone back and listened to pretty much everything you all have produced, (relatively new here) and am on my last “back” episode. So, please, come out with an update soon: it doesn’t have to be sooo long, perhaps just a few minuted to get my fix?

    In all seriousness though, you guys are great and I am looking forward to the next one.
