Fox’s Roger Ailes Calls NPR Nazis

Roger Ailes giving Congressional testimony

Roger Ailes giving Congressional testimony

Way to go Roger, the rest of the media is going to love you more than ever. Sample quote from Howard Kurtz’s interview with Ailes for the Daily Beast, where he discusses the executives at NPR:

They are, of course, Nazis. They have a kind of Nazi attitude. They are the left wing of Nazism. These guys don’t want any other point of view. They don’t even feel guilty using tax dollars to spout their propaganda. They are basically Air America with government funding to keep them alive.”

Elsewhere in the interview Ailes says Obama thinks differently from most Americans; defends Murdoch’s GOP donations; admits Glenn Beck sometimes goes too far; slams Jon Stewart as a conservative-basher; explains why he rode to Juan Williams’ rescue; and sees NPR as taxpayer-funded propaganda. The kind of man you’d like as your neighbor, right?

I would laugh except his testimony will be used to help justify Obama’s deficit council in eliminating the Public Broadcasting Corporation, effectively ending the people’s last stake in the public airwaves. PBS, NPR, any station that doesn’t rely on corporate paymasters will be left to the “free market”. And we’re in a recession, just look at the state of Pacifica to get an idea of where these institutions are headed financially.

It’s really sad that ideologues like Ailes can paint very mainstream media like NPR with the Nazi brush, and we are collectively so ignorant as to take him seriously.

Wow…that’s pot calling kettle black…or Satan calling an imp the devil…or any other analogy where the person who embodies several horrible vices accuses someone else of the same.

I don’t believe that Roger Ailes has a giant oven in his basement where he personally murders Jews, homosexuals, and gypsies, but I have no evidence to support that belief.
