I really like this one, at first I was kind of irritated, I thought it might be some tea party right wing red neck jargon, but it points out how many overlook accomplishment, and emphasize the failure. Although a lot of questions have gone unanswered, and much needs to be done in the next two years, I know the healthcare bill has left a positive effect on my life (in my work and health)

No Obama fan myself, but lets try a thought experiment. What has/had Bush done for us in eight years. Oh yeah, everyone was against everything he did when he did it. Good job everyone who was against him retrospectively. In another universe, you actually accomplished something.

Its a cute site…but unless its the micro issue that affects someone personally…this is a collection of terrific, but very tiny, things that have indeed taken place over the last two years. Most of these small benefits were part of larger better plans that were bargained down until whats left was trivial…compared to the original idea.America in 2008 asked for glass of DNC Extra Bold…we got handed a glass of GOP Lite. We drank it because it was that or nothing else…but we didn’t smile and order another…because we still didn’t get what we asked for……and unlike the GOP, who will order ‘freedom’ and ‘lower taxes’ every single time…then cheer even when they pay more taxes and are less free, most liberals can hold a concept in their memory long enough to remember that “No…thats not what I asked for, dickheads. I said Public Option…you said OK…then you hand me a mandatory contract with an insurer thats part of the existing problems or I face additional taxes and fines??? What the fuck? When I ask for a pizza and somebody hands me a bag of dirt…they don’t get paid! Fuck off!” So yes…congress have been busy little boys and girls. They got many tiny things passed…and a lot them were pretty nice…but on all the large scale issues that they campaigned over and were elected to deal with…they sucked balls. They took a dive in the first round, after announcing that theyd get in the ring and fight. If they want unilateral support no matter how much they lie, cheat, steal and fail…they should join the GOP…where no one complains no matter what the politicians do, or how wacky they act. Out here in sanity land…you actually have to pay some fucking dues before you get credit.

Most of what i see on this link is work to expand government like government usually behaves when unchecked by it’s deliberately dumbed down and misled sovereigns. this was probably created by someone pissed off by people flaming this president for not actually bringing change, when change is a constant in the universe, therefore obvious. He didn’t bring the change needed for the bettering of America is what they should blame him for.

the love of “getting things done” is why nothing ever really gets done.
you start with the thing to be done, it’s a good thing, but getting it done ends up more important than the thing itself, so it goes to committee gets torn apart switched around, bartered put back together not looking anything like it started out as, who cares, we got it done

Obama is the sort of guy who will sign a bill called “Free Flying Cars For Every Person On Earth” and then brag about how he gave free flying cars to every person on Earth, but when you read the bill he actually just gave the car industry 10 trillion dollars and gave one small deflating balloon to 5 random communities in the nation.

That website reeks of truthiness. Most of the stuff it lists is part of the health bill, the so-called Obamacare, none of which has actually gone into effect yet. The implication is that criticism of Obama is unfounded, but give me a break.

    – When he was asking for our votes he promised us single payer health care, then after he got our votes he went to the insurance industry and sold us out.
    – He has increased the bloodshed in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
    – He claimed to have shut down Guantanamo in his State of the Union, a bold-faced lie.
    – He has expanded Executive use of the States Secret Act to continue the “Bush-era” abuses of power

This website plays upon the “left wing critics are undermining his agenda” narrative, but thats just pure BS. Its Obama’s deep-pocketed friends on Wall Street and an obstinate and insane Republican party that is blocking any progress on his moderate agenda.

go back and check your facts. He prefers but never promised single payer health care. He knew it wasnt realistic in the US. He is working under unreal conditions and doing the best he can. would i like to see more backbone, yes. but no one is perfect. get over it and e glad that there is a grownup back in the white house who is making decisions based on facts, logic, and judgment.

Most things I see that aren’t either manipulations of the truth (Obama created more private sector jobs than Bush) or meaningless outside a larger context (most gays in administration), are expansions of gov’t that will lead to hyperinflation and/or the erosion of our freedom.

I wanted single payer, and would have accepted public option (as a way to make private insurance honest).Instead, I got a bill that insures that I add to some insurance company’s profits. And am waiting for the other feet to drop…such as “now we can drop YOU, but you must come to ask us for insurance” and “BTW…hospitals now can refuse to see people without the insurance we just happened to deny to you.”Yeah, like the small stuff – for what it is, and ONLY that. And I’m not forgetting what you promised.

It doesn’t explain what he should have accomplished.

The Bush Regime still hasn’t been held accountable. The reduction of troops distracts the fact that the troops are still in Iraq and Afghanistan, and increasing our presence in Pakistan, and Yemen. Coups both attempted and succeeded are still happening and have US finger prints.

The w…orkers never got to own there factories for GM, and Ford.

The banks still aren’t held accountable and never will be. We still have gigantic military spending which could crush us. Maybe the last part wont be so bad since that means the military will eat itself.

I don’t know what everybody is complaining about. If you go back and listen to his inverviews he did in 07-08, BHO did exactly what he said he was going to do.
    1. BHO said Afghanistan was the right war
    2. BHO promised healthcare for everyone-and everyone does have it, rather you want it or not.
Yes anyone can go to a hospital and be taken care of. You could always go to an ER and be taken care of.
Either you pay %2 of your income or pay a fine.
The one thing BHO sayed he would do, that he has not yet done is create an American SS.
You remember BHO wants to create a private or social police force just as powerfull and well funded as the American Military.
I’m waiting for this job career to open up.

I am unhappy with him for inviting that homophobic douche to speak at his inauguration (bad omen, bad start), and I don’t like that he’s done nothing to prosecute the crimes of the previous administration like torture, or that he’s done nothing to reverse the more odious of their fascist laws like the Patriot Act, however, to be fair, I also give him credit where it’s due as well.Namely:++ Passed the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, which gives equal pay rights to women. That’s only a GIANT thing that women have been waiting for someone to make progress on for the past 30 years or so…. ++ Signed a law that provide families of fallen soldiers with expenses to cover them being on hand when their loved ones arrive at Dover AFB.++ Ended the media blackout on war casualties; reporting full information.++ Ended the previous stop-loss policy that kept soldiers in Iraq/Afghanistan longer than their enlistment date.++ Began phasing out the expensive F-22 war plane and other outdated weapons systems, which weren’t even used or needed in Iraq/Afghanistan.++ Removed restrictions on embryonic stem-cell research.++ Approved new funds for school construction.++ Approved a program to bring high-speed, broadband Internet access to K-12 schools.++ Increased infrastructure spending (roads, bridges, power plants) after years of neglect, thereby also creating new jobs that help the recovery.++ Better body armor is now being provided to our troops.++ The idiotic missile defense program was cut by $1.4 billion in 2010.++ Restarted the nuclear nonproliferation talks that Bush suicidally abandoned.++ Reengaged in the treaties/agreements to protect the Antarctic.++ Approved legislation to fund tax write-offs for those who buy hybrid automobiles.++ Expanded the SCHIP program to cover health care for 4 million more children.++ Provided immediate and efficient response to the floods in North Dakota.++ Closed offshore mega-corporate tax safe havens.++ Approved the Cash for clunkers program which offered vouchers to trade in fuel inefficient, polluting old cars for new cars and stimulated auto sales.++ Ended the previous policy of offering tax benefits to corporations who outsource American jobs; the new policy is to promote in-sourcing to bring jobs back.++ Introduced new consumer protections from the credit card industry’s predatory practices.++ Closed the so-called “donut-hole” in Medicare, thus saving seniors money on their medical care.++ Ended the previous practice of forbidding Medicare from negotiating with drug manufacturers for cheaper drugs; the federal government is now realizing hundreds of millions in savings.++ Increased pay and benefits for military personnel with a long overdue COLA (cost of living allowance) raise. ++ Improved housing for military personnel.++ Improved conditions at Walter Reed Military Hospital and other military hospitals.++ Ended the previous utterly wasteful policy of awarding no-bid defense contracts.++ Approved a program to help students struggling to make college loan payments be able to have their loans refinanced++ Limited the salaries of senior White House aides.++ Approved the long-term development of an improved national energy grid with renewable sources and cleaner, efficient energy production.++ Returned money authorized for refurbishment of White House offices and private living quarters, and paid for the redecoration of White House living quarters out of his own pocket.++ Demanded a 50% decline in compensation, on average, for the top earners at seven firms that received the most bailout funds.++ Approved more stringent nutrition labeling on processed foods.++ Approved $750 million towards helping low-income students with financial literacy, debt management, and college access and completion.++ Approved new rules that would increase fuel efficiency by an average of 5 percent a year.++ Shrank the deficit by 9%.
