Searching for a Bill Hicks quote the other day I came across this site. It is just a discussion thread, but it is called “Bill Hicks is Over Rated”. I was kind of flabbergasted. I had never even heard anyone say anything bad about Bill Hicks, much less a whole group of people. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/34/other-other-topics/bill-hicks-overrated-896369/index7.html

If those guys think Bill Hicks is so unfunny, they should say something funny. If they are gonna say he isn’t profound, they should say something profound.

      Haters.

Kinda like alot of posters here. Maybe instead of trying to sound reaaaaaaaaly smart and trying to sound like they got this whole world figured out (or atleast their paradigm), writing over bloated posts supporting their world views, sitting infront of their computer screen on some kinda kings throne, MAYBE, just MAYBE they should get out, go back to basics, connect to people on a human level and maybe then they can start affect real change in their world.
But all i see here is people with alot of time on their hands who think they know alot about nothing.(seems to be alot of educated people here, but that cant be confused with smarts). Facts can be easily taught, changed, and manipulated to suit the view point of that individual(and i see alot of that here). The truth on the other hand is a life long process and anyone who thinks they got the answers should seriously have an eye brow raised at them because there is SOO much disinformation out there, so much so its designed to confuse us and anyone who claims to understand the workings of these systems by reading posts or articles or books, I truely feel sorry for. If you do no have an inside connection, or if you are not part of the inner workings, my friend you know nothing. And this much I do know.
I enjoy alot of information that comes across this site and and i enjoy the odd remarks by people. But i think some of these guys gotta take their egos back a bit and maybe start over again.

        Just sayin..

And my point is lol Bill Hicks was a genius about this. There was no left right paradigm bullshit. He got to the core of human freedoms and rights. He made even the most uneducated person think. And that takes true talent..

Bill you are missed by millions.

they are probably people that think that “men and women are sooo different” and “gosh my kids grow up to fast” jokes are the height of comedy

There’s a voice that would have been good to hear this last decade…Hicks had a keen understanding of both the flaws in government and human nature that held us all back from doing something more productive with our time in this existence…instead of just making each other miserable.

    R.I.P. Bill…wish you were here.

This is the most productive time in history. Being productive is the problem.

We measure ‘productive’ differently. I don’t mean corporate output…I mean imagination, compassion, empathy, discovery…etc. We can produce more than mere merchandise. Hicks was great at skewering our misplaced ideals…and went one step further and actually put forward better ones instead of just bitching about the bad ones…thats why I admire the guy so much.
