Ryan Higa – Agent of Secret Stuff (ASS)

Ryan Higa is the star of a massively popular comedic espionage “TV” series, Agents of Secret Stuff, but you won’t find it on any actual television network. 20-year-old Higa is making ASS for his YouTube Channel and in just a few days the latest 35-minute episode has amassed nearly 4 million views. I doubt he’s making money from it yet, but chances are that Higa is going to parlay his giant audience into some megabucks before long. One question, though … is he any good? Check him out:

    He’s 20 years old and for a show done on probably next to no budget with less than seasoned actors it’s alright. The writing is predictable and it’s gimmicks have been done before but it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen. If it were to be made into a tv show I imagine they’d get better writers, efx and all that professionally type stuff. Reminds me a bit of Chuck though.

    I think there is definitely some talent in this crew that is worth nurturing. They’re a long way from being ready to write and produce the next big budget movie or sitcom but with some experienced professionals to work with they could probably do very well at producing stuff for the Disney channel right now. Then after a few years of professional production experience one or two of them might actually go far.

    Disney would be stupid not to snatch them up, I think. If nothing else the rags to riches story of going from Youtube to Disney would be a real P/R coup.
