WikiRebels: The WikiLeaks Documentary (Video)

Could Swedish public service TV network SVT’s new documentary film about Julian Assange and WikiLeaks have been released at a more timely moment? It’s bang up to date and for anyone intrigued by Assange and co., essential viewing. Thanks to tipster Ken V, who correctly describes the film as “thorough and very informative.”

Wikileaks could not have come at a more perfect time during the coarse of human civilization.

agree with you completely. All the criticisms of Wikileaks seem to miss the bigger picture that without Assange and Wiki, there’s no real checks and balances for the powers that be. The media has nearly completely abdicated their responsibility as the ’4th estate’ and the Supreme Court has clearly become politicized. We need more from Wikileaks and if diplomacy is hurt a little bit as a result that’s just the way it goes. You can’t make an omelet without cracking some eggs. I’m waiting for the documents that paint the banking industry as the greedy thieves we already know they are.

The real reason Obama might be “sleeping on the couch” is because he’s been Wikileaking all over the bed every night since this started.

I can’t watch it as I’m shaped atm. Does it show the nuclear bunker where they keep their swedish server? That place is badass.

The movie is OK in many aspects, but overall not critical enough.

    1. JA is being prosecuted for 2 incindets of “rape”, when both girls invited him home to stay over. The first case is an allegation of rape for nothing using a condom. The girls reported the case 1 week after it happened. The next days after it happened she was reportedly (her own Twitter) very much in love. When the media heat increased she went with an older American man to stay/work in Israel/Westbank (according to her own homepage), where she is still. The second girls reported she was raped while sleeping. None of these allegations will hold in court (not even in Sweden). They will instead be used as an excuse to try to get JA delievered to the US
    2. If JA is delivered to the US it means that Sweden (and its much proclaimed neutrality) is open for US pressure.

Nothing of this was discussed in the movie.
