The Banned ‘Jesus Hates Obama’ Super Bowl Ad (Video)

jesus hates obamaWhether or not Richard Belfry, the owner of JesusHatesObama.com, really wanted to spend the millions of dollars it costs to run a single commercial during the Superbowl is dubious, but in any event the network with the broadcast rights, Fox, has refused to air it, handing Belfry a whole lot of free publicity.

Here’s the commercial in case you’re curious, oh and by the way, he claims “Do we really believe that Jesues hates Obama?

Of course not! … Our products may be a joke but so are the policies of this administration”:

  5. Maybe less ‘banned’ and more ‘too retarded even for Fox’…which is saying quite a bit. Besides…half of Fox’s purpose is to invite as many people in via sports and popular programming as possible…then indoctrinate them slowly in ways that don’t offend them so violently that they change channels. Running an ad like that would push the edge too far for some people. Thats the marketplace in action…not ‘banning’. After all…if you make a sandwich that tastes like dogshit…and no one buys it…it wasn’t banned…it was just too shitty to be salable.

  7. Seems to me, they liked the message enough to give it undue publicity (By saying no, they’re saying they bothered to look at it). Old school fox tactic; market directly to a mainstream audience whilst indirectly marketing to a nutjob audience. I miss the days before they started marketing directly to the nutjob audience.

More ridiculous right winger speak, I hate to break it to them but no where in the Bible does it say that anyone who sides differently than the GOP, Libertarians, or the Tea Party has committed some unforgivable sin.

That means that he hates Bush too, right? They are one and the same. At least judging by their track records.

If Jesus hates Obama, how come I can only imagine the two of them eternally embraced in a sweaty, nasty, groan-inducing (for all parties involved) 69?

Why pay for marketing when you can get it for FREE! This isn’t about politics this is about making a buck and isn’t that the American way?

  25. I love how Jesus is white with long locks of blond hair. Even though this is a joke and purely gag merchandise, can we see how this type of baloney creates an “us-vs-them” reality wherein violence against the other is justified? Wasn’t that long ago when the Jews in Europe were being killed en masse for their part in murdering the savior.
