Who Wants To Kill Julian Assange?

Julian Assange WikiLeaks founder

Who believes that WikiLeaks’ revealing of classified information warrants a penalty of death for the leakers? Surprisingly (or not), many of our leaders and political pundits do. PeopleOKWithMurderingAssange.com collects quotes from mainstream sources calling for the killing of Julian Assange, suggesting that the assassination of whistle blowers has become a respectable thing to endorse:

“This fellow Anwar al-Awlaki, a joint U.S. citizen hiding out in Yemen, is on a ‘kill list’. Mr. Assange should be put on the same list.” — G. Gordon Liddy (Former White House Adviser, talk show host)

“I’d like to ask a simple question: Why isn’t Julian Assange dead? Why wasn’t Assange garroted in his hotel room years ago?” — Jonah Goldberg (Editor-at-large of National Review Online)

“Julian Assange should be targeted like the Taliban.” — Sarah Palin

  1. So technically we are still living in the Medieval Age & still murdering people for revealing that the Earth orbits the Sun… It’s the SAME EXACT THING! Come on, people, let’s make some progress for the benefit of humanity!

it almost makes you piss yourself with laughter every time the US govt. talks about believing in freedom, democracy and transparent government then talks about assassinating people who dare tell the people what their government is doing

What scares me the most is the Soviet United States is a mere 60 kms. from my home. locally, we have a militia…just in case Soviet US decides to “visit with troops”..

  17. Anonymous should be targeting them. I’m sure there’s enough dirty laundry to ruin their careers and take them out of the public spotlight. We need more groups like Anonymous. Hundreds to support the telling of the truth by all those who wish to shed light on the dirty dirty things our and all governments pull.

Well, if he is “Jesus” and does infact have a master plan, humanity gets scared shitless or damages itself badly, ect, but we come out better in the end, and results like that are OK in my book.

  21. Talk about a slippery slope. A decade ago it was the left crying out “Spying on people without even a paper trail to prove it is wrong and will lead to worse.” Then it was “Detaining people indefinitely without evidence or legal representation is wrong and will lead to worse.” Then “Torturing people to obtain confessions is wrong and will lead to worse.” Then “Mandating that people who advocate for terrorist groups can be killed at will is wrong and will lead to worse.”

And now we’re down to “Calling for journalists/whistleblowers who defy the government to be executed without trial is bad and will lead to…well…shit…we’re pretty much down to killing ordinary, non-violent people for any reason at any time…there isn’t really a worse that this can lead to.”

    Fuck.

  23. Aren’t these world leaders endighting terrorism by promoting murdering someone in cold blood for reporting the truth – this all sounds a bit like when Jesus was strung up for wanting the world to be a happier loving place….. just who have we got ‘watchin out for us’ sounds to me like a disgusting bunch of ignorant thick headed bullies who have deep routed issues of self loathing
