As per usual, Santa Clara County v. Southern Pacific Railroad is ignored. Until someone addresses that Supreme Court ruling, more rulings like Citizens United are going to continue happen.

The unintended consequences from which we are seeing the destruction of the republic.

You beat me to it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Clara_County_v._Southern_Pacific_Railroad . The 14th Amendment has done a lot of damage. It makes people equal, alright. Equally enslaved, “subject to the jurisdiction” of the United States, where no jurisdiction had existed before. With this case it made the corporation equal to a person:

“In opening the Court stated that it did not wish to hear argument on the question whether the Fourteenth Amendment applies to such corporations as are parties in these suits. All the Judges were of the opinion that it does.”

Citizens United v. FEC rests on this foundation.

Why doesn’t this idiot just vote for a 3rd party? With info being free (gotta love the internet) it should take hardly any money to run for office if people were smart enough to research these things on their own and just just sit passively by while other people tell them who to vote for. You get the government you deserve, problem is it is forced on the rest of us too.

Hazy thinking here. The Federal government is NOT a democracy, it is the incorporation of a democratic republic.

And almost NO ONE is angry about Citizens United, besides liberal policy
wonks. And they seem to be implying that NONE of this crap happened before it
