As Texas Burns From Worst Wildfires In History, State Government Organizes Rain Prayers

road-smoke_34915_600x450Wildfire is ravaging the Texas landscape on a never-before-seen scale which will shatter previous records.

Governor Rick Perry’s response? He has commanded residents to pray for rain. No, not in a passing remark in a speech, but with an official decree designating “Days of Prayer for Rain” on which Texans will “offer prayers on that day for the healing of our land and the restoration of our normal way of life” and “to humbly seek an end to these dangerous wildfires.” No further comment needed.

      Are you kidding? If you did that, you’d set the Gulf on fire from all the oil that’s still floating around! Then there’d be wildfires not just on the land, but off it too! ;)

    Texas definitely needs a new governor. Problem is, there are way too many non-thinking Repugnican sheeple voters here in Texas. Maybe if they’d stop praying to Jeebus for two seconds and actually make an attempt at rational thought something would change.

    Good luck with that. Historically speaking…not looking good for you..since prayer hasn’t yet seemed to stop anything bad from happening…ever. And the funniest part is that between raging fires, pollution, and killer super tornados…the solid South and Bible Belt are getting the crap kicked out of them. Fred Phelps needs new signs…God doesn’t hate homos…he hates Republicans…especially if they’e poor, dumb, white and pester him with prayers regarding nature or politics.
