Brazilian Woman Wins The Right To Watch Porn & Masturbate At Work

Ana Catarina BezerraDodai Stewart writes on Jezebel:

How do you relieve stress and anxiety when you’re on the job? Do some online window shopping? Hit up the vending machine for some chocolate? Take a smoke break? One Brazilian woman masturbates. Eighteen times a day.

Ana Catarina Bezerra, a 36-year-old accountant, has a chemical imbalance. She suffers from severe anxiety and hypersexuality. She finds that masturbating helps… for a little while. According to Guanabee, Bezerra explains: “I got so bad I would to masturbate up to forty seven-times a day. That’s when I asked for help, I knew it wasn’t normal.”

Now Bezerra has seen a doctor, and she’s medicated, so she doesn’t need to jill off as often. But she still needs to. And she had to take her employer to court in order to be allowed to masturbate during the workday. A few weeks ago she won her case, which means she can reach orgasm at work as often as she requires — and use her work computer to look at porn. And since happy employees are more productive, Bezerra is probably the best accountant in Brazil.

yeah major bull. she needs to turn into a porn star if she is so sexy. attention getting behavior.

      •  but what if that is not her wish, for all I know she might be quite shy and wants no such attention.
but still has this kind of libido.

    •  It actually IS a rare medical condition.  It’s more than just being “horny;” look it up.

      •  Yeah they got a name for everything now.
And why does she need the computer….if she has a condition.
She sits at her desk, watches porn, masturbates to orgasm….gee I don’t think I want to go into her office or have to use her computer or chair.

nor would i.  that’s why we need to wash hands often.  some people aren’t exhibitionists as such.  ya know?

        hogwash… hyperthyroid is a medical condition… hyper-sexuality is a mental condition… in other words, she’s crazy…

        • So mental illness isn’t a medical condition?
Wow what a wonderfully ancient and ignorant view you have toward mental illness.

          • Jackedu317 | May 15, 2011 at 4:09 pm |

i guess i should have said psychological… in other words, made up… my bad… mental illness is something anyone who believes in freedom, god, or their liberties has. it’s true! we’re all crazy. that is to say, sane according to 1950’s standards, is insane today. but don’t worry, big pharma has a drug for that too! it’s called “SLAVINOL”. it allows you to shut up and keep paying for your own slavery…

          • It’s disgusting that you think mental and emotional disorders are made up, and that you use those terms as a blanket slur. (Like how all uneducated people are “retarded” and all effeminate men are “gay.”) I’m sure you’d be shocked to learn how many people in your life are affected by these kinds of conditions and must be treated to function independently. You’d feel differently if it were something more “mainstream” (read “better understood”), like taking a medication at intervals, frequent exercise to relieve physical discomfort or frequent meals to treat an eating disorder. The fact that sex is taboo is the only reason that this is news-worthy. And btw, your politics are overused, incendiary, pompous and inappropriate in this context. Get a life.

If your mental it really is your problem.

not for certain.  there are some strong hormones in the human body.  maybe she has an over active sex brain… like there is a book called “the male brain”.  i was talked out of reading it (“why would you want to read that?”), but, i read the first few pages anyway, and it said the size of a mans sex brain (portion of the brain) was much bigger than the womans i forget the actual percentage (2/3 to 1/3 ??).  mayabe she was born with a big sex brain.  did that make any sense at all?  *sigh* anyway – i don’t feel sorry for her.  the fact that this is all over my website is suggestive of an exhibitionist.  a real sex fiend doesn’t need help with masturbation.

          •  Dubious claims like this just support the social construct of gender and serve to excuse men from responsibility for their own behaviour.

  23. Well, if she needs to masturbate that regularly, she’s unfit to work in an office setting, period. Logically, it seems she should work from home or be on disability. No one in a professional environment should have to put up with having to avoid so-and-so’s office because they’re always wanking, nor should anyone be forced to be aware of someone in their work environment’s sexual habits in the first place, nor should she have to put herself in a situation where everyone at work knows those kind of details about her life. A good way to resolve this dilemma would be to have her work at home, and make her pay on salary. A better way to resolve this dilemma would be to end wage slavery.

    • The article only states that she may watch porn at her desk; it doesn’t make clear whether or not she is allowed to masturbate at her desk or if she must go to the toilet to do so. I’d imagine it’s probably the latter, in which case it’s not much different to someone with a weak bladder having to make many toilet trips during the day. In both cases, they have a responsibility to wash their hands afterwards of course, but that shouldn’t be a reason to oppose this.

  28. …why does she have an office job, then? This shit is ridiculous, and–speaking as a feminist–I imagine the unholy uproar that would occur if this was a male asking to look at porn while at work would be a LOT bigger and a LOT louder. Why is this seen as some sort of “win” since it’s a lady? I wouldn’t want to work in an office where somebody was jerking it all day regardless of gender. Not only is it unbelievably awkward, it’s unsanitary.  Work from home or get a different damn job.

  39.  wow, people are so insensitive. It IS a clinically studied condition where the body is in a constant state of arousal and it is to the point of being distracting and debilitating. The people afflicted with this do not enjoy it and find it horribly annoying that they can’t just focus on life and instead feel the constant urge to relieve themselves. Think about it as feeling the need to urinate… BADLY… every moment of every day. It wouldn’t be nice. She is not crazy and neither are the other thousands of people who have to live with disorder. It is not an addition it is a physical condition.

    •  Then shouldn’t she be able to get disability or work from home? I’m sorry, I think it’s ridiculous and unfeasible to expect your employer to let you not only masturbate at work–but also use work computers to watch porn on. It’s ridiculous. If that is what is necessary to help her, then she should not be working in an office setting.

      • Razzmary82 | May 15, 2011 at 11:37 pm |

Do you know how hard it is to get disability? I’ve been trying for years.  There’s so many loopholes and they must have to feel generous that day in order to get it.  Sometimes life isn’t quite so simple.

      • Jennifer Randazzo | May 18, 2011 at 8:50 am |

Not only is it hard to get disability, do you know where that money comes from? SOCIAL SECURITY. You and I pay taxes (*assuming you work) and that’s where that money comes from. Also, they’ve been having these discussions, maybe you’ve heard them… about how Social Security will run out before too long? She is capable of working and wants to. She has a disability, and needs accomodations. Yes, it’s weird but she’s setting a precedent. Now this case will be used as the basis for future suits, and no one will have to go to court and talk about their right to masturbate.

  41. How does she stay clean “down there”. She would have to wear an adult diaper due to constantly being wet. Unless her employer also gives her time to clean up??

  74. This wouldn’t be news if she were demanding to be accomodated for something that wasn’t lurid. “Brazilian Woman Wins The Right To Eat Frequently At Work” OMG! What a pig!! She just needs to lay off the chicken wings and get back to work! Diabetes is made up by fat people to excuse having no will power! If she’s that fat, she needs to have gastric bypass and stay home with the kids.

I have BPNOS, GAD and PTSD, and I had to fight to be able to take my meds on time! I have to take breaks to manage my anxiety and maintain my focus. Side effects of my medications: pain in my chest and stomach, dizziness and headaches…. which leads to taking OTC pain relievers in addition. Result: I take pills at my desk about 10x a day, take extra breaks most days and have difficulty bending and lifting. I can’t function without my medication but I am otherwise an efficient, pleasant employee. Lots of people with my diagnoses are on disability, but I want to work. And I am the de facto supervisor in my department.

Sure, she could be on disability. Or she could just suffer through the day without being able to concentrate, until her performance is so lax that she’s fired. But she shouldn’t have to! In an ideal world, her employer would have allowed her frequent breaks without asking questions. The fact that she was forced to divulge her condition is shameful.

Wow John, you really know what you’re talking about.

  80. It is a company’s job to provide a safe working environment and a
paycheck that doesn’t bounce. Not to cater to the whim of every employee
and their desires. Between medication, discretion and a little bit of
discipline could have solved this without a court getting involved. Too
many people today think that the world around them needs to be catered
to their own little desires. It becomes circular and self defeating
    after awhile. Sad…

discipline could have solved this without a court getting involved. Too
many people today think that the world around them needs to be catered
to their own little desires. It becomes circular and self defeating
    after awhile. Sad…

  89.  Addiction is recognised as a disease, at least in Australia – you can even recieve a disability pension for being an alcoholic.

Is it necessary to allow her to watch porn at work? If it’s that bad, she shouldn’t have much trouble wanking in the first place.

The article only states that she may watch porn at her desk; it doesn’t make clear whether or not she is allowed to masturbate at her desk or if she must go to the toilet to do so. I’d imagine it’s probably the latter, in which case it’s not much different to someone with a weak bladder having to make many toilet trips during the day. In both cases, they have a responsibility to wash their hands afterwards of course, but that shouldn’t be a reason to oppose this.
