Man Flies Across Grand Canyon With Jetpack

A week ago, without media attention, a Swiss man named Yves Rossy completed an amazing eight-minute flight along the Grand Canyon. He flew at nearly 200 mph and used only his body movements to steer, notes Swissinfo:

    Interesting.  After reading the headline, I was wondering how he was gonna get lift-off and endure prolonged exposure to a hot jet pack.
     
    Now I know he didn’t have to.  He was dropped from a copter and just used short bursts from this thing for steering.
     
    Still, it’s a wonder his chute didn’t get burnt/melted.  But a far cry from George Jetson all the same.
