This Is Why Government Is Broken

Once again, it takes Jon Stewart and the Daily Show to feature people who actually have great ideas about how to improve governance and laws in the United States. Here Stewart takes time out from the Bin Laden story to talk to Philip K. Howard, the author of the classic bestseller The Death of Common Sense: How Law Is Suffocating America.

    The USA is morally bankrupt. The beer-head football consciousness that permeates our speech and decision making has led US down the road to perdition. We are all murderers now, thanks to the military-corporate complex. There is no forgiveness for our actions, for allowing the chaos money making machine to be the center of our foreign policy. Our leadership has been co-opted by the not so smart intelligence community that is controlled by the ultra-wealthy who wish to reduce the population of the planet to 500 million by any means: nuclear weapons/power, industrial pollution, patented medicines that do more harm than good, privatized schools with hidden agendas, genetically altered food, fluoridated water, etc. There is no prayer to any god that can correct this situation, it is up to each individual to get up off their lazy butt to make things better. Common sense was neither common or sensible to begin with, this is the basic logic of the New World Disorder. We will have the opportunity to test new theories of common sensibility if we can solve another of Mother Nature’s tests, the Red Meteor, Apophis.

    The fantasy of no laws and relying upon common sense meets the reality of lie, cheat and steal. Sure you can catch them out but how many suffer in between say a fake doctor setting up practice selling cheap fake drugs and a few hundred people dying.

    The airline company that buys air planes meant for the scrap heap, takes out lots of insurance and fills the planes full of passengers waiting to cash on on the inevitable.

    Even better the oil drilling company that takes out a major insurance policy on a drilling rig, they know is being running improperly, then give it’s executives a safety bonus when the rig blows up (you see, that ones doesn’t count because they knew it was going to happen).

    Common sense when it comes to dealing and working with, sociopaths and narcissists, it common sense that they’ll kill your and yours without laws and legions of police officers to protect, straight up fact.

    Yes I know it’s annoying, wastes time and money but where stuck with it all, as long as we are stuck with those psychopaths and narcissists, get rid of them and yes, life will be a whole lot simpler and a lot more fun.

    why would an airline company willing buy planes that are falling apart?  the inevitable crash you speak of would inevitably tarnish said airlines reputation.  Remember that all business’ rely on consumers, so doing things that would piss consumers off, isn’t a smart business decision.
