Is Ron Paul The New Chuck Norris?

Paul NorrisInternational Business Times reports:

Move aside, Chuck Norris, Ron Paul Facts is now in.

Ron Paul, a Texas Congressman and 2012 presidential hopeful, has inspired a fiercely loyal following around the country with his straight-talking Libertarian approach.

The Federal Reserve? End it! … Income taxes? Don’t need it! … Troops abroad? Send them home! … The UN and NATO? Pull out of them!

On the Internet, Ron Paul is king. Back in the 2008 Republican presidential primaries, he became known for winning virtually every single internet and text message poll. This ardent online support in has spawned the “Ron Paul Facts” in 2011.

Below are some “facts” about Ron Paul, taken from the Ron Paul Facts website.

Ron Paul has no alarm clock, but instead wakes every morning to the call of freedom.

Ron Paul doesn’t go the gym. He stays fit by exercising his civil rights.

Ron Paul delivers babies without his hands. He simply reads them the Bill of Rights and they crawl out in anticipation of freedom.

Ron Paul wasn’t born. He liberated himself from the womb.

Ron Paul doesn’t pee. He liberates urine

Studies by the World Health Organization show that Ron Paul is the leading cause of freedom among men.

Ron Paul can fly, but doesn’t because its unconstitutional.

Ron Paul could lead a horse to water AND convince it to drink, but he doesn’t believe the government has the right to so he refuses.

Ron Paul doesn’t cut taxes. He kills them with his bare hands.

I love it. Ron Paul owns all other politicians, not only because he’s actually honest, but he’s the only one who’s right…over and over and over and over and over again. When you see a Ron Paul hater, ignore them, Ron Paul will be right again and they will look stupid.

    • Guest

Who says he is honest?  He can give you a controversial opinion on issues, that’s all.  It doesn’t mean it won’t be like anyone else we have ever elected: get in office and completely disregard everything that was previously said, running the country in the opposite direction.  He is a conservative and everything that word entails.  There is going to be nobody we can elect in this current system of government that has the power to change anything, so he can wish away with the rest of us because one man does not have that much power and if he did, I’m sure somebody would make sure he stopped…

“get in office and completely disregard everything that was previously said” Except that he has been an elected politician for a very long time and he has never done that. Whether you agree with his views or not, you have to acknowledge that he is a man of integrity…when he says he is going to do (or not do) something, he sticks to his principles. That is shockingly refreshing in the world of politics and of course there will be those who do not trust it.

“He is a conservative and everything that word entails” He is a Libertarian running as a a Republican. As such, his economic policies are hardcore conservative but his stance on social issues if more liberal and more progressive than Obama.

        • SF2K01

Ron Paul is an isolationist conservative, not a libertarian. He has never been a libertarian or stood for libertarianism and has only expressly stated the opposite, especially in terms of social issues. Did you even know he calls himself “extremely pro-life?” He often believes in curtailing personal freedoms for his vision of America, but simply believes it should be done on the state level, not the federal, as he pushed to ban flag burning at the state level.

“Ron Paul is a libertarian” – The message voiced by people who don’t know what Ron Paul stands for, but don’t care because he is the next messiah who will bring change to this country.

I think that the established powers are going to sabotage his ability to become president because hes pretty much against anything that has to do with the current government. Ron Paul becoming president is the equivalent of a revolution, and if a revolution does occur, I would follow Ron Paul and battle in the name of the principles that made this country. Fighting for the constitution and the bill of rights is what our soldiers should be fighting for, not money or make believe conflicts created by our government.

so lets go into makebelieve land and say he gets elected what do you think he would achieve? he wouldn’t get a single nomination confirmed and nothing he proposed would be voted on, ho would unite the parties in their effort to make him a 4 year lame duck

    • IrishPotatoGun

Well if he is able to successfully transform the DoJ into doing actual justice maybe most of those politicians  and PAC’s will be put in jail for their treason and crimes against humanity, perhaps the “the parties” will become dissolved.

how do you think he would transform the DoJ only party endorsed nominations have a prayer of getting confirmed and it’s budget would be in the hands of party legislators….as president he would wield no power

    • AgreeToDisagree

I adore Ron Paul but doubt he will get the nomination. And even if he did get it, and then – even more unlikely – if he were to win against Obama, he would probably be assassinated for trying to change too much. “They” (ie: Wall Street and the Military-Industrial Complex) will never willingly let someone with his ideals and values into office because they know they would lose their power/control. They would sooner ensure that we get stuck with Obama again  because they have complete control over his pathetic puppet strings…

They’ll walk him into a room, showing a video of the JFK assassination from an angle nobody outside closed doors has seen, ask Mr. Paul “any questions?”, and then it will be business as usual for another 4 years.

The devotion people give Ron Paul isn’t any different than how people were treating Obama. They think he’s everything he isn’t and especially that he is their new messiah promising change that will never come. Sounds like every candidate anyone has ever loved to me.

Ron Paul – who would further deregulate Wall St. and thinks that the “church should eclipse the state” – his words.  He’s a Christian corporatist.  Despite being refreshingly honest on some issues, libertarian orthodoxy would be a disaster.

Ron Paul is a total shamartist.  Without the fed there’d be no way to engineer another market-saving bailout and without Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae there’d be no way to facilitate collateralised mortgage-backed securities markets.  There’s no way any selfrespecting millionaire would be so suicidal or so stupid as to back this turdgobbler.

So Paul’s natural response?  Speak out in favor of prostitution at a GOP rally.  Add a splash of defeatist anti-war gibberish, and you’ve got the perfect Hemlock Cocktail, guaranteed to kill the effectiveness of any mavericks.  It’s a plan so fiendishly clever that I wish I’d thought of it myself.

I’m pushing for Radical Socialists being the third party, or at least Labor.

That being said, a working man speaking honestly about his trials and tribulations balancing a family and job, and trying to make both work really isn’t the flash and pizzaz people demand these days. I suppose the “rich people fuck you over and over, then laugh at you to your face” model is the new vogue.

These guys believe NOTHING.  If they get elected, it’s just to get the same bribe money the established politicians get.

  • Anarchy Wolf

He’s a corporatist whore who basically plans on replacing government authority (which in theory is accountable to the public) with corporate authority which is “private” and unaccountable.

He’s probably about as fake as Obama, telling you what you want to hear, promising what you believe is needed, then gets into office and let’s the business organizations and private interests continue to run the country.
    FART! Not interested.
