Didn’t Obama & Cameron get NATO involved so this didn’t look like a US, with our loyal UK lapdog, go it alone clutterfuck ala Bush & Blair in Iraq? If I read the NATO treaty right it obligates the member nations to come to the defense of fellow member nations under attack or immediate threat of attack. Libya hasn’t attacked anyone in NATO.

  8. Great! Powerful Stuff!  I worked for a number of years with and in NATO and I agree.  Get out as fast as we can.  It all comes down to money.

I remember that we started NATO to protect Europe from The Warsawpact and since its has gone for more than 2 Decades, NATO has no mission.

It is, on the otherhand,  Ironic that the other, not spoken reason for NATO was to keep the ugly nationalistic politics out of Europe.  If the US pulls back to being a watcher of the older Euro states and does not take part  in NATO, the ugly Nationalistic politics that sparked the Iraqi war and fueled mission creep in Afghanistan will be blown out of control.  Who knows what will come of it.

As far as waisting money in Nato, it is a joke to think that the corruption in the military industrial complex wont find ways to continue to soak up money that could be spent on keeping schools open, people off the streets, and getting our nation to the top of the hill again.

I was in a meeting once where a general made a speech,  I would almost say he was dancing with glee to say that the US is in a war for us, for our children and our grandchildren.  I wonder now after the military and the last president drained the US of every available dollar that our children will have schools to go to, or our grandchildren will have hope as we did.

Geting out of NATO is a start.  Give power back to the people, draw down and take a long hard look at what we have created at home should be our next steps.
