the people that most profit from marijuana being illegal more then the drug dealers are the bankers that whitewash drug money (the same people that finance plititions)

  5. Of more concern to me is the CNN putz who enables the DEA stooge . I want people to notice as well, precisely when the CNN anchor interrupts Tommy. It’s when he quite correctly calls the other guy a “liar”.

The press is bizarrely averse to actually stating the point blank truth. Someone comes on their show, LIES, and they cannot say so.

This is where half our problems originate, and I mean ones well beyond just the issue of Marijuana. They couldn’t simply say to any of the warmongers who ramped up the illegal Iraqi War that they were LIARS either, but they damn well should have.

Not only is the lying that Chong pointed out worthy of note, but the fact that he said Chabot is paid to lie about the effects of cannabis is most telling: the reason why weed is still illegal in spite of all the scientific evidence disproving its Schedule I classification is because legalization would *GASP* cost us jobs.

I can’t help but feel the rage overcome me when I hear imbeciles like this guy talk about “family values” in response to issues like this. The same stale old rhetoric that conservative killjoys have been talking since time immemorial.

The frustrating part is not so much the law enforcement guy but the “mediator” who conveniently interrupts or runs out of time when the discussion gets too real.  FYI:  No true debate can ever be had on a purposefully short news segment like this.  I wish pro-pot people would figure out that everything they say will be spun by these news channels and just STOP appearing on them.

I agree with everything you said up to “…just STOP appearing on them”.  I only wish that Tommy Chong didn’t lose his temper and instead gave a more coherent argument to Mr. “I’m very disappointed”.

Montel Williams and Mellisa Etheridge’s stories make valid points in the scheme of the debate, but are frankly tiny examples in the vast array of valid arguments.

Sorry Tommy, I love ya but you kinda dropped the ball on this one.

Well I’m glad that Tommy got in this dude’s ass like that. Like he said, mr. official was only on CNN to lie about marijuana, it’s not difficult to tell. It’s wrong for kids under 25 to smoke, but it’s much better to have them getting shit faced through the use of alcohol and prescription pills. What fools Americans can be. Soon enough though, the plant will become legal and people will have one more resource to use which they can easily produce on their own.

“Christianity should be legalized”? Um, its already legal fool. Maybe if you weren’t so embroiled in your anger you could catch your own stupid mistakes and stop assuming things you know nothing about.

You don’t know me at all. I’m no Christian.  You assume far too much, anger too easily and look more foolish and unworthy of further attention.

I Love Tommy Chong and the free use of weed for any purpose an individual so chooses. I even cheered him when he told that asshole to shut up and listen. I understood his frustration, but he got too flustered and damaged his position. A position that I truly support.

You’re right but man they are really pissing me off as you can tell. And I think Tom did a great job of railroading them back. It’s more than just pot, it’s abortion rights, gay rights, stem cell research what can be taught in public school the list goes on man.  But thank you  I really need to chill and not jump on anything that even looks slightly supportive to their agenda.

          • GoodDoktorBad | Jun 26, 2011 at 3:49 pm |

Cool, thanks for the honesty. I just think that anger should fuel reason, not the other way around. Things tend to work out a lot better when we learn to take control of anger and use it wisely. It’s a powerful thing that all too easily blows up in our faces (like a nuke plant).

Perhaps. But as annoying and tyrannical as some Christians can be, I would say that those traits are spread more or less evenly over all groups, including Jews -nothing personal. I’m not a fan of most organized faiths except perhaps Zen-Buddhist philosophy. Take your truth where you find it. you were like this 🙁 but then the doctor talked and you became like this 🙂

  25. Dave’s not here, man.

My favorite part is “My heart goes out to you because you have an addiction.”
(faintly) “I don’t even smoke it!”

Chong has a great point.  Millions die of alcohol and car accidents (and cigarette caused diseases) every year, and as far as my research has found out an average of 0 die each year from marijuana or marijuana caused diseases.  (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr58/nvsr58_19.pdf)  I won’t jump to saying no one has ever died from Marijuana yet…

Now of course this always comes down to the responsible drinker vs. the alcoholic, and the responsible driver vs. the distracted driver.  As far as I can tell there is no way to responsibly use cigarettes.  So there will always be the responsible weed user vs. the pothead.

  28. Paul Chabot is full of crap.  I have Lyme Disease, live in California, and have a medical marijuanna card that helps me pay out the nose for marijuanna.  I asked my infectious disease doctor about Marinol several times before he finally admitted that it doesn’t work as well or is as safe as regular pot.  He knows I smoke regularly and it is only by smoking that I can avoid taking all of the other drugs he prescribes me without hesitation.  But he wouldn’t prescribe me Marinol (even though it would save me 400-500 dollars a month in pot expenses).  Paul Chabot is full of crap.

  31. Forgot to mention-I stop smoking regularly when I leave California for trips and I experience no withdrawal effects.  I take one frickin’ vicodin and feel like crap all the next day.  When I go on these trips I also lose my ability to eat and I forget that not only does the pot help with the pain and swelling, it allows me to have an appetite.  My heart goes out to your ignorant, high-paid ass Paul Chabot.  May you be infected with many diseases with pot being your only recourse for treatment and quality of life.  I’m cruel enough to wish that upon you sir.

  66. i wonder what the smoke and mirrors of marijuana debate is hiding… i mean, c’mon folks, no new information is being brought to the table here… this is an old ass debate.  and if what mr. chabot believes to be true, that healthy marijuana smokers in their 20s need help, where, i ask, are the treatment centers for these individuals?  who is going to pay for them to get help with their “addiction,” if they choose to do so?  until there are treatment centers available and accessible to *anyone* who thinks they may have a drug problem, i say, the other side needs to stfu and shove the marijuana-nol up their ass.  if they believed it was even CLOSE to being the same thing, then why OH why would one be deemed “safe” and not the other?  oh.. because big pharma is the only legal drug dealer in this country.. and it only remains game as long as it’s illegal.. because afterall, who is legalization going to hurt?  drug dealers.

  70. The biggest reason why marijuana continues to be illegal is that corporate America does not want happy, laid back, relaxed slaves.  Oh, no!  That might reduce the their stock’s dividend by 2 cents a share.  They want aggressive, alcohol-driven, compulsive slaves from whom they can wring the very last drop of blood and sweat.  Speaking of lies, the translation of the warning on packs of cogarettes sheould really be:  “Cigarette smoking could be hazardous to the profits of the giant health insurance corporations.”  Just a little truth like this now & then would be refreshing…

It would interest you to know that Harry J. Anslinger, the original Drug Czar, went blind later in life and was addicted.
