Two Florida Teens Arrested For ‘Sexting’

SextingI still hate the word “sexting” … Jim Peppard writes for WTSP 10 News:

Brooksville, Florida — Two teenagers were arrested for sexting a photo of a bare breast.

A 15 year old boy was taken into custody after he told a school resource officer he forwarded a cell phone picture he received last December of a young girl’s breast, the sheriff’s office said. He said another student at Hernando High School had threatened to do him harm, after learning of the photo.

The girl herself was also charged, after admitting she took a picture of herself in the mirror wearing underwear and exposing a breast, and sending it to the boy, according to the arrest affidavit.

Both were charged with transmission of pornography by electronic device, processed at the Hernando County Jail and released into the custody of their parents.

Sounds pretty light considering some states want to consider it child pornography too. If this is what kids are going to be dumb enough to do law makers really need to sit back and let them make their own mistakes.

That lawmakers actually insist that the criminal justice system wastes time on this adolescent behavior is even more dumb than the teenagers themselves.

ha ha ha… I love it. Slut shaming keeps the population down better than any abstinence program.

There is no way this is true. A person can take any kind of picture they want of themselves and send it as long as the recipient is ok with it. Bogus.

Nope, you can be charged under child pornography laws even if the picture taken is of yourself in many states.

Hang on a minute, “transmission of pornography by electronic device” is illegal??

Oh shit, there goes the internet.

  18. An underage girl sent a boy a naked picture? Oh no! Call the national guard! Everybody is so worried about the phone “scandal” that they fail to realize that the girl is probably getting facials already. i cant be nice about this because its not news. Remember, people under 18 don’t have the ability to make decisions because they don’t have the mental capacity yet. They are the equivalent to being retarded. So a 17 year old cannot send a picture of her tits to anyone but an 18 year old can get triple penetrated and gang trained, and sell it while she gargles semen in HD.

This isn’t acceptable adult behavior so why should it be tolerated for teenagers?  Because they are each other’s peers?  Well, the law still applies, plus that picture is just one text message away from being sent to somebody who is not under the age of 18 and may unwittingly come into possession of child pron, so yes, teach the kid a lesson because his dumb ass could have gotten somebody else into some serious trouble.

And while we are at it, to be fair, charge her too… or we can just lower the age of consent to 13 and evvvvvverrrrybody can get over it.
