Roger Ailes’ Secret Nixon-Era Blueprint For Fox News

0630_ailesfront

If you suspected that Fox News was nothing more than a decades-in-the-making Republican plot to pipe propaganda to unsuspecting rubes…you were right down to a tee. Gawker dug up this amazing find:

According to a remarkable document buried deep within the Richard Nixon Presidential Library, the forerunner for Fox News was a 1970 plot by Ailes and other Nixon aides to deliver “pro-administration” stories to heartland television viewers.

The memo is called, simply enough, “A Plan For Putting the GOP on TV News”.

Do we really need more proof that these fuckers are anything less than propagandists?

  4. Well…its not like they were so subtle that this is a shocker…but its nice to see the nail in the coffin of their bullshit. I wonder if they’ll suddenly cut loose Ailes to lose the clear connection to the original plan.

I’m guessing this is a joke.  Nothing in here supports the theory that fox news is a product of this “memo.”

    • Except that one of the people central to the memo, Mr Ailes, is now the head of a 24/7 conservative GOP propaganda network…

      …okay…maybe its a coincidence.

      Dude, it’s a conspiracy, man!

    • No…but it does show that they were thinking along those lines since at least 1970, if not before. It would take the rise of cable and the repeal of network news neutrality laws before Fox would buy up the remains of the old DuMont television network and go on the air.

If you suspect that the rest of the MSM is nothing more than a decades-in-the-making build-up of deplorable, neo-liberal propaganda and bias… you probably think this website is populated with intellectually vain dumbasses.

    • Hey asshat, MSNBC was developed as a response to Fox “news”.

And as a response to the way you constructed your statement, no, I don’t think msN is a decades-in-the-making build-up (boy you like your hyphens) of deplorable, neo-liberal propaganda and bias so I guess I don’t think this website is populated with intellectually vain dumbasses.  I do however think someone who has blinders on as thick as your as to the obvious slant that Fox ‘News’ has no credibility in regards to what would be considered objective journalism.  And just because programs use facts that go against the narrative of Fox “News” doesn’t mean they’re liberal.  It means the facts don’t bear out for what passes for conservative ideology.  If you haven’t figured it out by now most facts don’t support the neo conservative viewpoint.

p.s.- Where in the past week has Fox “News” covered ANYTHING about the Rupert Murdoch NOTW scandal?  Huh? It’s only one of the biggest stories in the current news cycle and Fox hasn’t done one iota of coverage.  Don’t talk about what’s deplorable when a so called news service doesn’t even do its job.

MSM in general is tainted they show us only what they want us to see , the only true way to avoid this is to keep your ear to the ground when it comes to news locally  go to the states website and bam real news .

you basically have to ignore the big 3  FOX  MSNBC AND CNN    all of which just serve as a distraction , while they pilfer our pockets.

      • Your wrong, FOX has done more than a few stories on Rupert. Half the shit people talk about against FOX news is some bullshit they heard somewhere else. Each side is full of shit and MSN is by far much worse than FOX.

    • DeepCough | Jul 14, 2011 at 5:12 pm |

No, Disinfo is not affiliated with the vain dumbasses of MSNBC anymore than it’s affiliated with the vapid ideologues of Faux News. Know your role, and shut your fuckin’ mouth.

Conservatives like him are like barking dogs: you need to be firm, draw the line, and every once in a while, smack ’em with a rolled up copy of the New York Times.

  14. If you think Fox News is bad, look at the “alternative media” – there’s a reason why Fox News started to parrot all the key “Patriot”/militia/911 Truth talking points as soon as Obama was installed in office. The conspiratainment craze that’s been sweeping the nation since the aftermath of 911 has has obviously been stage managed by the establishment all along.

The Nazis used the basic framework of Illuminati conspiracy theories to bolster support for the Holocaust, and as the result the German public viewed it as a populist uprising against cartels of nefarious foreign interests. Sound familiar? The psychologically manipulative disinformation  tactics that Alex Jones
perfected during the Bush administration have gone mainstream by
design, and will probably lead to the rise of the New Nazis.

They’re the last bastions of thought in the ever-growing Fox News / Jerry Springer-ization of America.

  32. I have been saying for some time that Fox News is just an extension of Ailes time in the Nixon Dirty Tricks machine. The same morons that love Fox News is the same group that complains about the immorality on Fox’s entertainment division – the Atheist Family Guy, 20+ year anti-family Simpson’s run etc.  It seems we have less to fear from our government & more from the continued reach of capitalism.  Time to cut off its damn arms

    • What a bunch of BS, Fox, MSNBC and the lot all work for thier apparent sides. The people tha own MSN area also on the commitees for Obama. All MSM is a waist of time and one big lie.

  34. Rachel Maddow showed an old SNL clip from the 80s that seemed to be the inspiration for Glenn Beck.
I cant find the clip but that was hilarious.
So yeah I dont doubt this one bit. They’re all actors.

No wonder I couldnt find it!

  44. Sadly, the underlined points are precisely why you can’t wean a Faux News viewer off of their propaganda feed; Murdoch’s channel didn’t tell them they should think for themselves, so they won’t.
