The Pentagon’s LSD Bombs

I never knew there was such a thing as “psychedelic warfare”. From a vintage Popular Science article, via Parapolitical:

Secret U.S. tests show[ed] startling military uses for weird new chemical agents. The so-called “loony gas,” which we believed could incapacitate enemies without actually harming them, turned out to be LSD. Although we acknowledged that LSD could make people “daffy,” we also stated that these psycho-chemicals were more or less humane. That is, the military could saturate enemies with LSD and take over their towns, without destroying them, before the people recovered.

    In 1993 I worked for a contractor that had to scan declassified military documents into public record.  I was one of the scanners.  A painfully boring job with free coffee.  Most of the documents were unremarkable but I do remember coming across the schematics for a bomb which I was told never made it to production.  The contents of the bomb included lsd and cocaine along with other drugs that I couldn’t identify by their name at the time.

    Certainly at the very least funnier. You just know that one had to have been the brainchild of some horribly sexually repressed individual…….the weapon itself almost seemed like a cry for help, from deep inside dark closet!

    The good thing about that bomb (I’d like to call it the ‘party bomb’…seems to fit) is it would have been a great way for black ops units to smuggle drugs, which they’ve been accused of doing in the past….especially cocaine.

    A couple hundred micrograms of pure acid and then have tanks and troops in gas masks come thundering down your street would have to define a bad trip. It couldn’t happen here :)

    I know you are joking mostly.

    The thought of giving acid to a bunch of fearful churchies barely in control of their own minds sounds like a recipe for horror of a hellish kind. Such people hover over the abyss while looking up, then consequently they fall in, unprepared for the descent and unable to climb back out. 

    Psychedelics are for strong wills who can direct their own thoughts and control their fears. Televangelists lead the weak and ignorant.

    Lets do a Test Bomb on Washington D.C. first and see how it works on the peaceful there.  It’s less than 10 squared miles so It will be easy to contain… ‘Say October 6th.  2011 .  That will give me time to peddle me bicycle over there.  :)    <3

    As someone who had a very difficult time on LSD, which took years to fix due to improper setting, this is insane and violent. LSD is ‘safe’, but only under the right conditions. It can put a hell of a psychosis on someone, and that’s not about ‘pushing a predisposed schizo’, it’s not humane, at all.
