Woman Arrested For Groping TSA Agent At Checkpoint

Airport Agent GropingNot sure if this woman’s actions were intended as an interesting sociological experiment, a political statement, or just disorderly hooliganism. Anyway, she did a nice job of “flipping the script” as they say. Via NPR:

Authorities say a Colorado woman who allegedly groped a female Transportation Security Administration agent at Phoenix’s international airport is facing a felony count of sexual abuse.

Phoenix police say 61-year-old Yukari Mihamae is accused of grabbing the left breast of the unidentified TSA agent Thursday afternoon at an airport checkpoint.

TSA staff say Mihamae refused to be go through passenger screening and became argumentative before she squeezed and twisted the agent’s breast with both hands. Mihamae lives in Longmont, Colo., and is self-employed.

While not violence per se, this does fit premise four, violence can only be allowed to travel down the hierarchy, when it does so it is fully justified and rationalized, when it goes up the hierarchy it is met with shock, horror and the fetishization of the victim.

I have been tempted for years to show up to a job interview; well dressed, prepared, seemingly gung-ho only to produce a bottle for collecting urine specimens at the end of the interview and demand that the interviewer supply me with their precious bodily fluids so that I may ascertain whether or not I will be employed by a drug addict. You touch me I touch you, you want my piss give me yours.

It’s only when the government does it, that it’s OK.

        • Anarchy Pony

No, generally it’s okay when multinational corporations do it as well.

    • dfe

Derrick Jensen? Of course Max Weber made the same point.

I would be unsurprised if the agent tried to grab her as part of the patdown and she grabbed right back. That would be my first instinct.

I’m with her…the only people who should have hand on my junk are my boyfriend and my doctor…one for fun and one for my health…everyone else is not invited…and is met with equal resistance. (Note: there are at least two nightclubs I couldn’t go to for quite a long while because of this policy. I never meant to elbow that guy in the face and knock him out…he reached down the back of my pants from behind me…the elbow was a reflex shot…I didn’t know he was a short fat guy…and I didn’t care. He had it coming…and so would any TSA agent that got overfriendly…which is why I’ve ceased flight as a mode of transport. Take the money away, get enough people out of the angry, miserable skies…and the airlines will do our lobbying for us.)

A felony? Seriously? Just let the other woman give her a titty twister, wag your finger and call it even.

I might move to China; the new Gold Mountain. You know, for the freedom.
