Canada Unveils The First Canadian Android, Then Touches Her Inappropriately (Video)

C3PO she ain’t. In the video “Aiko” is presented as Canada’s first android, and is promptly sexually molested against her wishes. Seems like a strange way to display her synthetic skin and vocal responses to pain:

According to her website, Aiko was created “to help our aging population to do simple tasks like make tea and coffee, tell them the weather, read a magazine or remind them to take their medication at the correct time. There are many applications for Aiko in the home, office or public places.”  Or even … private places? “Human/Cyborg relations” indeed.

The designer, Le Trung from Brampton, Ontario, claims “Aiko is the first android to react to physical stimuli and mimic pain. This technology could be applied to people born with or who have undergone amputations. Aiko is the first step towards a life-like mechanical limb that has the ability to feel physical sensations.”

am i the only one that wondered what that thing sounds like talking dirty?

      • You certainly aren’t anymore.  And, if he programmed it not to want him to grope it, you know he has a sexy talk subroutine in there somewhere.

Of course, if it learned to reject him on its own…

Am I the only one who sees the irony of how we humans are making our own species obsolete?

Actually, almost all of them are.  It’s hard enough building the damn things without making them bipedal, which has its own difficulties.

  11. Someday a android will file a sexual harrasment lawsuit against the perv after being grabbed.

And why someone hold create a robot that looks and acts like a human anyway? That are already humans for that! Looks very limited in my opinion and hould be more cheaper and fun produce an actual human in the natural way. If i’d create a robot it hould look like anything but a human.
