The Twitter Stripper Photo From UK Riots

stripperThis photo has been making waves since it was uploaded to Twitter, supposedly depicting a man stripping off his clothes under the threat of violence from the man at right during the recent civil disturbances in Britain (this scene reportedly from Birmingham).

Is it what it seems or is it intentionally misleading in a clumsy attempt to spark race-related violence?

If it is what it seems it already is race-related violence.

It looks like a white guy exposing himself to some black guy to me…..I don’t see any ‘violence’ involved…the black guy isn’t holding a knife to the guys head. It could be anything….I’m even wondering if it was taken during the riots….I don’t see anyone else in the picture….and doesn’t the black guy seem a bit overdressed for this time of year?
Who knows….This could be a scene from a gay porn for all we know.

        Exactly!

But the violence of street thugs is as nothing compared to the violence of Frankensteinwhatever ever desirous to tell me what I’ve seen or what I should think of what I’ve seen or second-guess me on what my own nervous system is telling me.

lol @ ‘a clumsy attempt to spark race-related violence’ – don’t import the American-racist tropes into the UK, people in the UK laugh at ‘American racism’ and nobody really cares about the ‘N’-word.

In fact I suspect these riots were in-part triggered by Stephen Fry’s announcement that he’s changed the name of Guy Gibson’s dog in his script for the forthcoming Peter Jackson-produced ‘Dambusters’-remake to avoid offending ‘Americans’. Okay I’m joking about that but – it does illustrate how Americans see things as ‘racially charged’ whereas British people are more willing to accept ‘class-politics’ when interpreting society and its discontents.

I mean, from a UK perspective the picture may as well be about ‘homoerotica-related violence’ as it is about ‘race-related violence’.

Dat skinny wite boi gonna get shafted innit. lol

What a bias thing to say, ” clumsy attempt to spark race-related violence” , NOONE looked at this picture in a racial way, YOU are in fact injecting a racial point of view on it, if it is racial violence, than GOOD, it was eventually going to catch up to white people FFS

    • 123isme

“majestic” isn’t injecting a racial POV into this picture. beyond the individuals who were there when the picture was taken, no one knows for sure the context of what is occurring. While it right there is reason enough not to make assumptions, people will [make assumptions] regardless. “majestic” was simply being realistic in positing a scenario in which the viewer will make assumptions of the situation based on the race of the men pictured.

Whether the picture’s setting is the US or the UK, it’s incorrect and naive to think that *no one* (or an insignificant amount of people) would view this image not consider race in their interpretation of what’s happening. It doesn’t take a stretch of the imagination to see someone viewing this image making a racist comment about it (ignoring the fact that they don’t know the context), or viewing this image and having it reinforce subconscious racial bias.

Bullshit, majestic is alwaysing looking for any excuse to pimp his thinly veiled racism.  Look at his posting record.  He’s a clear fascist sympathiser.

Im tired of white people being called the bad guys for being police/civil servants. Im tired of blacks attacking white people in crazy mobs “because they are oppressed.” If a mob of whites attacked a black neighborhood in modern times the military would shoot them dead…. Fuck this double standard bullshit…fuck racism against blacks and WHITES..and fuck all of you who think two wrongs make a right…
