Bill Maher is trying to divide the American public. His listeners are led to believe that they are superior because they are democrats. It’s just a charade.

  5. Without a more or less complete overhaul of the entire system by which candidates are selected, elected, and “serve,” I’m afraid it doesn’t matter if a Democrat, Republican, Whig, or Guns And Weed Party candidate becomes president. We’re voting to see which corporate shill is at the controls when the Titanic slams into the iceberg.

I’m holding out hope for the Heroin Addicts Party.  They have farsighted, logical and lucid plans and opinions.

      About heroin.

This isn’t a good example, but every time I start to like Maher I hear him say something sexist, arrogant, or douchey.  He’s like the democratic Ron Paul–I want to support him, but there’s too much bullshit in the way.

    • The bright side…he’s actually a comedian and trying to be funny. The dark side…the other people consider themselves politicians and are deadly serious.

  11. Bill Hicks:
“I think the puppet on the right shares my beliefs.
I think the puppet on the left is more to my liking.
Hey, wait a minute, there’s one guy holding up both puppets.
    Go back to sleep Amerika;
    your government is in control.”

  13. This kinda reminds me of Maher’s movie “Religulous”. I thought I was going to enjoy it but it was just a turkey shoot.

This, just as easily, could have been Hannity picking on your typical clueless Democrat.

Wait a minute, you used Hannity and clueless in the same sentence.  Hannity is the Michele Bachmann of the TV politico dingbat class.  That makes it a circular argument.  There’s no point.  The clueless talking to the clueless.

  15. Yes, I’d say it’s very accurate.  I don’t think this bit is particularly funny though. It kind of reminds me of the Glenn Beck skit when he doused a guy in gasoline.
I don’t think the GOP leaders and thinkers make any sense. They all take an oath to Grover Norquist over and above their oath to the Constitution. Grover wants to shrink the size of government down to where he could “drown it in a bathtub”.
But when he’s pressed to answer the simple question: “What department would you get rid of?” he has no answer.
The rest of this week’s Real Time was pretty good though. They had a libertarian on the panel. Maher always tries to have guests on that are from all political persuasions.

Repuglicans aren’t the only ones living in a bubble nor are they the only ones blowing them. Keith and Bill
need to lay off the soap water and put away the bubble pipe….

  23. Inaccurate; projection.  Democrats are the ones who react to facts by simply ignoring them.

Republicans react to facts by screaming “LIES!  LIES!” and running the other way.

The only difference I see between Democrats & Republicans is that the Republicans are hurtling toward Armageddon in a NASCAR, and the Democrats are puttering toward Armageddon in a Prius. (And to belabor the analogy, the Tea Party is the crazy drunk who has grabbed the steering wheel …..)
