Brave New World is unfortunate to see on this list. Twilight however…

Brave New World and Nickle and Dimed are two books I anticipate reading as a family as soon as my kids are old enough to grasp the concepts.

Naturally, they would ban a book that successfully demonizes the very dystopia they’re working so diligently to create.

Goddamn you, ALA, do you realize what you have done?! You increased the
sales of “Twilight” and made it cool to read in the process!

Even though I’m a little … ahem… above the suggested reading age for the _The Hunger Games_ , I really enjoyed the series.

    It was so amazingly subversive.

    Should make it required reading.

WHat happened to the freedom of speech, wtf, how can the gov’t ban a book. As long as its set to the right age to read it there is no reason why ANY book should be BANNED!!!! This is BULL SHIT. I have 3 books on that list above, and to me this is all some kind of sick joke.

    • Boobs

The government haven’t banned anything, it’s just a list of books that a stupid society doesn’t like..

WHAT HAPPENED TO FREEDOM OF SPEECH,  How the hell can the gov’t ban a book. I understand some books are not for all ages, but really. This is bull shit. They let drugs, violence, sex, and religious viewpoints, in the movies we watch and the stuff we see on TV, but if a book has it it can be banned. WTF!!!!! I have read 3 of the books on the list above and none of them are that bad. Its not like they are insturctions on how to kill another human without getting caught. THIS IS  WRONG!!!!!!

Are they going to ban the Bible for “Religious View Point” and “Violence” also… I seem to remember both in that book… plus drug use and incest to add to the list.

    • Ironaddict06

Yes.  The Quran will replace the Bible to teach peace accross the western world.

CENSORSHIP. what our country doesn’t have any of. yet we have a banned book list?! my english teacher purposely makes us read books off the banned book list cuz he can always say that he didn’t know they were there. personally i dont think that this is fair. people always say don’t burn books it’s bad but a banned books list is the same. it all reminds me of Footloose the movie (old version not the crappy new 1 comeing out). I love to kill a mockingbird, it’s my favoritebook. HOW CULD THEY BAAN THAT BOOK????? it may not be on this list but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. if u think the language is to strong or somethin thats ur opinion, but i think that people who read are old enough to make decisions about what they read. ANY1 AGREE 2 THAT????
